The company Phlebotomy Training Specialists claims to be nationally accredited. They are not. They offer a false certification course in phlebotomy. Not a single hospital, doctor's ****** or urgent care will accept the "certificate" and it comes back as an illegitimate certification.

Phlebotomy Training Specialists (PTS) is a private post secondary school operating in the healthcare training space. While large institutions such as colleges opt for the accreditation route through the ** ********** of ********* (USDoE) accreditation, private trade schools such as PTS opt for State Approval and Recognition through state recognized boards of education. In this case, the ******** ******** of ******* Occupational Schools (approval letter attached), and the ************** Commission on Higher ********* (approval letter attached).

The complainant in question took and completed the course in **************.

PTS NEVER claims to be accredited. PTS would like proof from the complainant that we are claiming to be accredited. Our approvals are listed in numerous places on our website, and the fact that we are approved by state, not accredited nationally, can be found in the student enrollment agreement SIGNED by the complainant (see attached, highlighted on page 3). This is also listed in our course catalog, made available to the complainant prior to registration (see attached, highlighted on page 19).

The state certificate we issue is approved by both boards referenced above. The curriculum and training required to receive this certificate was fully vetted as well.

PTS cannot anticipate the individual preferences of each hospitals or doctors offices. This does not diminish the validity and approval of the training we offer. We have offered courses and had successful graduates obtain employment in the field for over 10 years in ********, and over three years in **************. We have ample resources and help available to students, like this complainant, who need help or assistance in their job search. We encourage the complainant to reach out to our school for additional help, resources, and job leads. The certificate they have is valid for employment in both ******** and **********************

The Phlebotomy Training Specialist program is extremely misleading. Their program online states that they prepare you for the national exam and how they have the highest passing rate in the country but the exam we take at the end of the course is for nothing more than a certificate of training which isn't applicable for any job nor was it the written "Certified Phlebotomist" certificate expected.I am still uncertified because, although I got a "state" certification, I was told by a hiring manager that there is no state certification in ******** and that she's had problems with people coming from this school specifically and how their verbiage is very misleading. They are legally allowed to operate in ******** but are not affiliated with any licensure. Our teacher told us the state of Colorado doesn't require a certificate to work as a phlebotomist but kept the impression that we would be. Our test was told to be a state test and our certificate- a state one. She even said we could transfer our certificate if we moved, we just needed to call the organization, which again made many of us think it was a national certificate.I'm just upset I spent $1000 on a training program that I expected to give me an advantage in the job field but I am now no closer than I had been before. The school taught me the basics but I'm not actually certified so I have to go through training anyway which is why this class was absolutely useless to me.The course was very well designed and professional, just not what they explicitly promise.
