While the location is beautiful, the experience with staff at Hillside Gardens was at times strictly disrespectful as well as confusing and lacking transparency. We reached out to them months ago, told them our plans for getting married, some parts of which dont include all the traditional elements. The wedding coordinator ****** had a snippy tone to many of our questions, interrupted often, and didnt listen well. She at a later phone call made a disrespectful comment and said that it seemed that we wanted a wedding but couldnt afford it. When I told her I felt this was not a respectful thing to say, she said we should just talk to the owner directly which I agreed to. I had a good initial phone call with the owner who excused the coordinators behavior as due to potential stress, but found that we received so much differing information. I asked questions about the contract and pricing over text, to which the owner said we needed to have an in-person meeting to resolve nearly two weeks later once he was finished vacationing. Between multiple conversations, we had so much varying information on whether or not having a ceremony would change pricing, day of the week, bar minimum, or whether or not event insurance would be required for about 50 guests. We have so much differing information in writing from them. When realizing that we had a couple of approaching deadlines, we asked if we could instead do a phone call instead of the in-person meeting they requested two weeks out. The owner agreed and promised to set it up. A few days later, texted to change his mind and said that an in-person meeting was now the only option. Next day, said that they would not have us as a client due to not being able to accommodate the meeting they set up. I have copies of all of our correspondence which was all professional, but I did ask thorough questions. Beware of the misinformation and lack of courtesy you could experience.
