In 2021 my CPA I'd worked with for years became ill and a new CPA, ***************************** took over the book of business. After months of trying to connect with **** at the beginning of 2022, I was unsuccessful in hearing from him. His assistants and other associates assured me my taxes were being handled by him and that they would be doing as much of the work as they could but I should hear from him soon. Just days before the tax deadline (despite me having almost everything into his office between Feb and March) I still didn't have my taxes. I reached out via email and phone calls multiple times. I asked if they had everything they needed and they confirmed they did (his associates not him since he refused to return any calls or emails). I let them know i was leaving to go out of town but I'd be available by phone. Inevitable they let me know they didn't have the birth certificate of my daughter and unfortunately I didn't have it with me so I spent hours trying to track down proof that would work. I was able to get home and send in the certificate however ultimately I was told I'd need to file an extension. **** finally called me after the tax deadline and I expressed my concern with his lack of professionalism and ultimately causing me extreme stress. He responded with zero ownership of this situation that although my taxes were done he didn't feel comfortable releasing them to me and allowing me to submit them. As a result I had to hire a new CPA (and pay him). In conversation **** and I agreed that we could not work together moving forward and he would not charge me for the taxes since I had to start from scratch with someone new. Fast forward to 2024 where I receive a call stating I have an unpaid balance which is for a service I NEVER received. I have since done some searches and I see many people have a similar story to mine. I owe it to the community to not work with this company or individual.
