I booked through a 3rd party app, Was ready to place my $100 deposit. Caught the front desk person trying to double charge me for a room. When I pointed it out, he snapped and decided to scream at me and tell me to get the f out when I told him I wanted a refund, HE PULLED A TASER ON ME. I called the cops, Never stayed there due to my concern for my safety. The cops tried to pull the footage but he was quick enough to be able to delete the footage of him instigating the incident so he couldnt be brought to justice. Pursuing it further with the BBB since I had a witness on FaceTime.DO NOT STAY HERE. They WILL absolutely try to do you dirty. This was a traumatic experience and none of it needed to be how they handled it.Business response

Hi,
Thank you for contacting us. So he came at hotel for the checked in and we start the check in process and told him yes we have your reservation but it is not prepaid reservation so you have to pay for room, tax and deposit and when you check out we inspect the room we will refund the deposit. So he told to front desk that he already paid through the travel agency. So front desk informed him this reservation is not prepaid reservation may be they just hold your money to hold your room which is standard thing when you made reservation online. So he start argue about that and use bad word to front like "m. f". and he try to attack on front-desk and told him to "go back your country". So as front desk he try to protect his self and call police to need Trespass. But front desk person already explain more than 10 times it is not prepaid reservation if you don't pay the rent there is no way we can allow to check you. So this simple thing he don't want to understand and just he want to yell someone. Also we don't charged him when police came we provide them all the folio or receipt which indicate we didn't charge him. Same thing he complaint to you for charge but we attach the invoice or folio with this response which explain it self everything. Also if any one is not happy about the charge they call CHOICE CORP. *************) and provide them Account number which is mention on Folio (top right corner) and confirm with them also. Now about the taser gun is just for the person safety because when he try to bit to front desk or do anything, before we have to protect our self because never know what happen with us and it doesn't mean we want to use but for the safety prepose.
I hope we clear everything which BBB wants.

1) Hotel had caught fire 12/25/2022. Hotel did not contact recipients staying. Hotel did not try to evacuate ********** did they offer to replace anyones items that had smoke damage. 2) Hotel leaves cleaning closet open while cleaning floors. Cleaning closet has a hole in the floor 2 feet by ****************************. My son was able to open my room door and if I didn't catch him he would have fallen threw the floor.Initial Complaint

6-17-2022 , I was charged an additional $250.00 directly from the hotel. In total I paid $347.00. I've attempted to contact the manager several times without success. I've contacted Expedia without any help from them since the hotel directly charged my bank card. I paid $114.00 on Expedia but on my bank statement I have an $80.00 + $170.00 charge from Rodeway Inn. I want a refund of $250.00Business response

Hi Aja'Dae,
******* Shakyra check-in on June 16 2022 and we asked how many people in room and she told us 2 and she came with 1 kid.As per our policy all our rooms are non-smoking room. We dont allow visitors at all. So, she gives us her id and we checked her in.
On next day we found strong smoking smell coming room the room and we knocked the room and found one old man with while chair smoking in room and he doesnt have shirt on it and we told him who are you? because you are not registered guest at all. So, he told us Lady (*****************************) rent room for him which she didnt told us. Also, when he opens the room whole room was smoking because he told us he smoked whole night in room he doesnt know that was non-smoking room.
There is big sign on door its non-smoking, at check in time we clearly informed to guest this non-smoking room. But still guy did smoke in room and we told him to leave because of unregistered guest and he give us very bad word which we cant handle at all and he almost attack on front desk because he forced him to leave. Mean while we called the police department because he was too loud and screaming on front desk and cautiously give him bad word so.
When we walked out side on parking lot, he threw the whole tool and everything on front desk and did the finally attack on him luckily there was distance and no one injured. In this whole this we received many complain about the other guest about the screaming. Too much loud noise in morning because some other guest was sleeping and they waked up because of this. So, after police department kick him out. After finally he was not in property and we spend almost1-1:30 hours for that. After he left, we checked the room and we found whole room was mass he smoked and did the ******************* on all wall with cigarette butts which take too much time to clean and still we have few marks on wall you can come and check it.

Complaint: ******** I am rejecting this response because: Their policy states & requires an $80.00 deposit which I agree to pay but the additional ****** I do not agree to pay. As I have not received any evidence of the alleged damages. Also my father is an Amputee and at risk adult. Also the room and hotel were very run down and not clean to begin with. The reviews on this location say they scam people by overcharging. I will be seeking legal aid in this matter. Sincerely,
