      Last year my ****** died and it was towed to *****'s Automotive as being close to where it died. It took months to get a new engine, but finally ***** completed it. ASC Warranty paid for part of it. ***** acknowledged getting a cracked engine but used it anyway. ****** later the car died again. It has now been sitting at AutoNation (closest facility) with an estimate of over $10,000 to put in a new engine. ***** gave a 2 year warranty and he says that ASC made him give a one year warranty. Either way it's under the warranty period. He has refused to give me the documentation on the engine he put in the car (which makes me wonder where the heck he got it). At one time he said in an email that he got it at another dealer but that was a lie. I have offered to settle for part of the repair but he refuses. I had two good reasons for not taking the vehicle back to him, his first work was poor and slow and it was too far.

      I reviewed the invoices from Strictly Automotive that you sent. Both times the oil levels were stated either extremely too low (1.5 quarts) or overfilled excessively by (**** quarts was drained total). Did you see this on invoice ******? Any person who owns or uses a vehicle has to know oil is critical in maintaining their vehicle engine. On invoice number ****** it states from your son that the engine was smoking out the exhaust. Also states a heavy oil leak from the oil pressure switch which your son had replaced there after the oil the oil change. The engine was overfilled? Engine damage most likely was caused by not maintaining or checking the oil levels as advised in the owner's manual. The engine oil specifications are 4.5 quarts. Due to poor maintenance practices the warranty would never have been covered by anyone's warranty. Too much or too little oil will cause engines to fail.

      Please read both invoices. The customer shows a history on the two invoices that maintenance was not done on a regular basis.
