Canteen supplies vending machines at the ****** womens correctional facility. These vending machines use a card with a chip that is purchased from the machine in the visitation lobby. The card can be loaded with money from that lobby machine thats also managed by Canteen. For the past 2 months the machine has only been able to accept cash to reload the chip card. It used to accept cash and credit for reloading. Now it only takes cash, but for the last month it has been out of order and families can not reload their cards. If you want your card reloaded you are to go to the mens prison and use their card machine. Which has taken ***** dollars from me. I have called the manager ************************* about 5 times with no return phone call to get my money back. Also the man they hired to fill the vending machines is taking advantage of the family members when it comes to purchasing food items. The vending maxing have tier levels. Each tier level of food is a certain price. The tiers are ****-3.00 dollars. Well he will put an item in one machine for **** and the in another machine the same food item will be ****. This is horrible! Canteen is taking advantage of family members that visit the incarcerated. Please help!!!Business response

Hi,
For the women's correctional visitation center we are aware that there was an issue with the credit card reader on those cash to card machines. Those were 3G credit card readers and to fix the issue we needed to upgrade them to 4G. We have order that part and installed it on the machine so that issue has been resolved. For the selection on the machine that is $9.00 that had $6.00 on it, ************************* found out that the pricing on that selection was incorrect and when we tried to fix it the machine would not let us change it due to an issue with the motherboard on the machine. The driver has since been instructed to not use that selection until the issue can be resolved.

tried to purchase candy and pop,the machine eats quarters.i used a five dollar bill, i received my candy. no pop this has happened four times . should have walked the five miles to another machine.. but im most times not on my break.. my money back will resove nmy problem. no email money my bank will not cash.lost 20 dollars to machinesBusiness response

Hi we just received the complaint made about a vending machine not working properly. We are happy to refund the customers money, but just need more information. We do not know where this vending machine is located so that we can get a maintenance tech out to that location. This machine sounds like a Pepsi or Coke machine that is not our machine. We do refund our customers and fix the machines as soon as possible so we are unsure how we were not notified earlier of the issue before he could make multiple issues to cause him to lose $20.
