      I am rejecting this response because:

      Jefferson Capital still has failed to provide me with the information that was requested by me. This has been my third attempt to ask for this information, and *** received nothing. If Jefferson Capital had a means of proving that this debt is mine it would been done so already. The burden of proof falls on the collection agency not the consumer. I find it extremely concerning that Jefferson Capital Systems has not complied with my requests as its my legal right. I have requested that Jefferson Capital Systems provide proof that they sent a debt validation letter, as its my legal right to ask for this information. Jefferson Capital has failed to provide proof after a number of attempts and I demand that this account is removed from my credit report as is my right per FCRA 623.(a)(i). I demand that this is removed before I formally file a complaint against Jefferson Capital with the **** and the FTC.

I have to qualify my family for my new home coming up and I really need this information updated as a deleted account on my Equifax, Experian, and Transunion credit report so that it doesn't have any effect on me being able to get qualified for my home. Deletion for payment letter and confirmation of payment is attached. I need this update to happen immediately please. I need this collection deleted from my credit report.

      Request from BBB: 

      "Please provide documentation of the request that you sent to the debt collector seeking the original contract or other verification of the debt, explain why the debt is not valid, and please provide the account number that is associated with this business."

       

      Response from me:

      The debt collector posted the collection on my account in June 2024 (I have attached a copy of the posting of the collection on my credit report from this business) .  I contacted the phone number listed for them on the credit report in July. The representative attempted to drag personal info out of me in order to attached me to this debt that I have no knowledge of.  They refused to provide me the information about the debt.  Since they acquired my personal info from somewhere to report it on my credit report, I requested that they send me proof of the alledge original contract to othe address they supposedly had listed in their system for me.  I have not received any such documents. 

      I can't provide BBB with an account number associated to this business that I have no knowledge of having with this debt collector.  If the debt collector can't provide it to me or provide it on my credit report, then I can't provide it to BBB.  The debt is not valid.  It is the debt collector's burden to prove this debt is valid and that I owe it to them. They are the ones that are listing it on my credit report.  It is my right to not give my SSN and other PPI over the phone to people who may possibly be scammers.  They have the burden of proof to provide the contractural obligation proof because they are the ones who are making the alledged claims of an alledged debt that I owe them. That is why I filed the BBB complaint. Get whatever you are requesting from them if they alledgely have it.

      Jefferson Capital Systems - 08/2024 - ************ remains as a collections on all three of my credit reports. I recently received a letter in the mail attempting to collect a debt for this same account from Unifin. When I spoke with the agent this month from Unifin, she advised me that they recently received the account in 07/2024 and would submit a dispute to Sprint to verify debt. However, Jefferson Capital Systems still remains on my report for the same debt and reports monthly of no payment received when they do not have the account. I have requested for the trade line to be deleted.

      I have no contract with jefferson capital. They are illegally reporting a fraudulent debt with no contract, ID available or judgement or court order. I have no contract, nor have ever done buisness with this agency. Cease and desist has been served. Jefferson Capital continues illegally report data.
