      Recently, we had a new gas and electric service delivered to our resident in ********* Colorado. The connections for both gas and electric was less than 100 feet. According to Xcel published rates for new service, gas would be $847, and Electric would be $367. However, Xcel charged $1,813.88 for the gas hook up, and $6,501.35 for electric hook up, plus an additional fee of $182.94. This is a new development in ************. of ********; and we were the 5th house to receive these utility connection services. The prior homes were charged the published rates, however I (my general contractor) was charged a higher rate which did not match the published rates. I believe we overpaid by $7,101.23.What can I do to protest the fees. I had to pay the higher fees at the time since the construction was halted needing the service. I am at a loss.Is there any way to protest this and receive funds back for these excessive fees.

      I live in an apartment and they mistyped my address causing me to be billed for multiple units within my apartment. When I asked to be credited back they refused to provide a call transcript and told me I would have to subpoena them for any information to get my money back. Rediculous and unprofessional.

      House absolutely empty, AC off, not a single item plugged in besides the fridge. Charged $200 for one month. Make it make sense? Pigs

      I was scammed for months. I was charged for months on an address I canceled my services to. The excel employee told me I was being scammed, as I assumed. Nightmare of a company. Y'all actually ****.

      The worst customer ********************** I experienced. Raising prices in 22 by ****%. They tried again in 23 but got only 4.3%. Due to their unique position they treat consumers like dirt. I will file a complaint with the ** utilities commission . Monopolies are forbidden

      On February 25, 2023 I called and spoke with a Xcel Energy employee because Excel Energy announced that we as customers could get our old electric meters returned to our homes but would have to pay a extra twenty dollar fee so the meter person would have to physically come out to read our meter. When I spoke with the Xcel employee I told her I wanted my old electric meter returned to my home and I would pay that extra twenty dollar fee. She told me that they would be out to reinstall my old meter within five weeks I told that is fine.In late February 2023 I called Xcel Energy again about where is my old meter? She told me by April 2023 Xcel Energy would have my electric meter back in and they would remove their new meter.Today on June 19, 2023 I called Xcel Energy to find out what is taking so long for them to reinstall my old meter. The employee by the name of *** told me "they aren't reinstalling the old meters and they don't have them anymore." I told her Xcel Energy just drops all complaints and don't send a notice to their customers that are still waiting for their old meters to be reinstalled. *** the employee was rude talking loudly and speaking as if I couldn't understand what she was telling me "as if I were a child and she was breakingvtheir down the syllables." If you are still waiting for your old electric meter, you will not receive it back according to Xcel Energy. File a complaint.I need help because Xcel Energy has void my contract with them. Please contact me.

      Billing service would be 0 if it was a choice. I have no issues with the electrical service, but the billing service is a train wreck. If we had any other choice of service we would change.I had been using paperless billing for several years, then about November 2022, the link failed. My husband was wanting to take over bill payments and he prefers paper bills. In January he called Excel and asked that they begin sending a paper bill. It didnt happen! Since then he has called them at least 10 times and we are yet to receive a paper bill.There are obvious mistakes in the billing, but without bills we cant figure out where the mistakes are. For example they have charged us $16 two separate times for returned checks. At no time has our bank account been too low to cover those checks. Also, if those checks had bounced, you can rest assured that we would know about it because the bank would have charged us.Also, he called them twice yesterday. One person told him that we showed a zero balance. Another one said that we owed $200+Today the lady said that we werent getting a bill because they only had our PO Box number (thats the way we can receive our mail) and not a physical address. She said they didnt have a physical address for us. My question is, How do you check our meter if you dont have our physical address?If this whole thing makes your head spin, imagine how we feel!

      Just found out that Xcel was a part of the cause of the ******** Fire in Boulder County on December 30, 2021. This past December 2022 Xcel hiked their prices almost 100%. It seems that a energy company that contributed to over $2 Billion in fire damage and over **** homes destroyed should be trying to restore customer faith not ***** all of ** with price hikes. If I had a choice to switch providers I would, but they are a government assisted monopoly and terrible company.

      Absolute garbage company. Their workers are rude and lazy, their customer ********************** is horrible, and they charge outrageous rates. Prime example of why we need community owned/centralized utilities, this company doesn't care about it's customers and does nothing to make the customer ********************** experience better. Absolutely shameful.
