The owner asked me to cancel my Groupon and purchase in home cleaning services through them. I took a chance and hired them for a move out cleaning of a townhome. His quote the morning of was over quadruple the Groupon price (for a 2 hour job) and his lack of professionalism was unmatched. His staff left without cleaning the shower, bathtub, railings, most of the baseboards, a few countertops and windows. After inquiring as to why these areas were left unclean, the owner stated that they cut it short because of the price he agreed to. When asking for a refund, he began threatening legal action and filing a mechanic's lien after I already paid him. This business needs shut down immediately.Business response

I don't know why this customer quotes a two hour Groupon job, this was a move-in-,move-out job and they always take a good amount of time. We quoted the customer a price for how long it should take, but he only agreed to pay for less time, $100 less time. If not everything was done, it was because he didn't pay for enough time as was originally quoted to him..The maids stayed for as many man-hours as he agreed to pay for..By state labor laws, they have to be paid by the hour, they can't work for free..I don't know what he wants a refund for since they only got paid for the time they actually worked, he didn't pay for any additional time..I'd like to see how many other legitimate companies, like ours, with liability insurance and Worker's Comp., etc., charge any less than we do per hour. We could have people return at just labor cost if customer wouldn't
pay them for whatever additional hours were necessary.
