In 2020 we wanted to have our front porch, sidewalk and driveway concrete replaced. We were recommended to Olivas Concrete and contacted ****, the owner. In Oct 2020, his company did the job. We had to wait to get on his schedule but he finally fit us in for Oct but the weather was turning very cold and snow was falling so it took some days to get it done.In Oct 2021, we contacted **** because we had pitting in several places and cracks. They came out and patched it. The patching looked horrible but they assured us in time it would blend in. It never did and continued pitting. We contacted them in Feb 2023. The driveway has HORRIBLE pitting and there is some pitting on the sidewalk and patio. We had **** come back out as we were very unhappy. The driveway looks terrible and is much worse than the one we had replaced which was roughly 50 years old. **** agreed it looked horrible. He said he has never seen it before and could not explain it. He said it was not bad concrete nor that it was because it was done late in the season with extreme cold. He speculated that it may be caused by the chemicals that the city uses that gets on our tires during winter as the worse pitting is where cars get parked. He said that might have affected new concrete. We asked how long it would have to be "not parked on" in order for it to be no longer considered new and thus not be affected by winter chemicals on the road. He said maybe 6 months which is unreasonable. He told us none of this when he did the job in Oct of 2020. He's not sure that is the reason. We asked him what needs to be done. He said it needs to be replaced. We agreed. He said he could do it if we paid him to do it but that there was nothing outside of a full new paid job that he could do. He argued that the warranty on the work had expired after 1 year. We explained that we contacted him at 1 year and he did not fix it at that time. He is not standing by his work.
