            I retained Allen Vellone law firm (AV). *********************************** and ************************* were the principal attorneys assigned by AV. My claim was settled during mediation on 12/15/23. The settlement agreement stated that the Defendant would pay me $45,000 by issuing a check to AV. After mediation, AV continued to accrue attorney fees that I did not agree to. I ordered ********* and ****** to stop working my claim. I paid AV in full, to date, on 1/2/24 with ******************** at AV. I asked ******** to aid me in settling my final invoice to AV, and to arrange AV's transfer of the settlement money to me. ******** stated that she was not authorized to settle the remaining accounts with me, but AV's office manager would call me. As of 1/8/24 I received no call from AV, so I emailed ******** to again request that AV contact me to settle accounts. AV will not respond. AV will not settle finances unless I pay their attorneys to discuss invoices and arrange payments.

            After I saw that other review with a 1-star rating, I felt that I had to same something, also.I had a very similar experience with this law firm. They ran up fees for unnecessary actions that, according to another attorney, were completely unwarranted. My legal costs were nearly double what they should have been.But that wasn't the worst of it. AVWH&F went to trial completely unprepared to make a legal argument. They told the court how they followed administrative procedure (more so than necessary and therefore the high costs), but they had no legal argument to defend my case and win the lawsuit. The opposing attorneys made mince meat out of my lawyers in the legal debate. I lost the case. My financial loss was huge. It dwarfed my additional losses for legal fees. And AVWH&F didn't care at all. They said, "You win some. You lose some. Here's our invoice. Pay up or we ***************** know...I heard stories about scummy lawyers, but these guys take the cake. The only thing they cared about was running up their fees.
