My company used Simpletexting as a vendor for nearly 3 years. Simpletexting has a fairly intuitive interface to work with and its technology was reliable. However, in my experience, the customer service needs a lot of work. Throughout my partnership with the company, I found their fee structure difficult to understand. But, despite some billing statements that took me by surprise, I was generally satisfied with the arrangement. However, when I renewed for the final year, I was billed twice - once on the old plan and once for a new plan. It was surprisingly difficult to get a customer service rep to understand that this was a problem; however, I eventually did resolve it and received a full credit for the overbilling. I signed up with simpletexting to use it to communicate with customers who have signed up for my company's craft beer club. I had been with simpletexting for quite some time when the company began holding up some of my messages and not delivering them to our customers who had opted in for the service. I later learned that alcoholic beverages are a product that is restricted by the association that governs SMS messaging. That was quite a surprise - I would have expected simpletexting to have made us aware of this issue at the outset. However, we continued to work with the company until the first of this year, when it became obvious that this was no longer a viable option. So, I terminated the service and requested a refund - what I got in response was very disappointing. The company refused to refund our remaining funds and pointed to the refund earlier this billing cycle (when the company corrected its own billing error) and claimed that those credits somehow invalidated our request for a refund. Consistent with our earlier billing issues, the company could not provide a sensible explanation for its refusal to refund money for services, that it would not allow us to use. I would definitely not advise working with this company.
