I was promised three years of free charging. Electrify america told us they canceled the account due to being worried about fraud. They told us we need to call VW and get a new code to access the 3 years free charging and to reimburse me for the cost of my charging. VW just said to call electrify and will not help further. I would not have bought the car without the free charging.Initial Complaint

I purchased a 2019 Volkswagon Jetta pre-certified vehicle from Emich Volkswagon on November 27th 2021.In late August 2021 the air conditioner stopped working. I took the car into ******** Volkswagon for a diagnosis. The technician sent me video of concerns under the car. The entire front fan condenser was not attached correctly. It was not attached to the radiator core support and everything was falling free and caused damage to the condenser and multiple hoses. The bracket for the ** line were not attached correctly, none of the ** lines were secured. I took the vehicle back to Emich Volkswagon. They refuse to cover the entire cost of $4670, but offered to pay 50%. I expect Emich to take full responsibility of the repairs and cover 100% of the cost, since this vehicle was sold with parts of the engine not connected properly!Although I agreed to buy this vehicle "as is" per the disclosure agreement, I believe Emich completely misrepresented this vehicle when they sold it, violating Section C of the "Disclosures Required as Part of a Motor Vehicle/Powersports Vehicle Sale" document. C. NOTICE Fraud or misrepresentation in a motor vehicle/powersports vehicle sale is punishable under ******** Law. This applies to both buyer and seller I hope Emich will take ownership of their mistake.Business response

I had my car towed to Emich. The technician replaced a speed sensor. Upon picking up the vehicle. The cars lights no longer worked. I brought the issue up to the business and was told that it was not the shops issue. It was my issue, even though the car was in the shops possession the entire time. I was then informed for anything to be fixed ( after being told they dont have a clue why its not working). That I would need to pay an additional 178 dollars per hour until they figure something out which could be 1-2000 hours of work. This all comes after having the technician pass the headlights in his 360 degree inspection. At this moment have no options to drive the car unless I allow them to charge me an undisclosed amount for something that occurred while in the shops possession.Business response

His car was towed in for no start. He replaced the battery thinking that was the issue. We diagnosed and replaced the engine speed sensor. His headlights/daytime running lights were working when he dropped off and the technician checked them as working on the inspection. When he picked up, the lights werent working. He tried swapping out bulbs and that didnt work, so he put the old bulbs back in and brought the car in for us to look at, insisting that it was our problem since it wasnt that way when he dropped off. We re-inspected all of the work that we performed to be sure that it didnt have anything to do with it. As a goodwill gesture,we checked out the bulbs, wiring, headlight assemblies, fuses, faults, etc. We even swapped out headlight switches for him to see if that would have an effect. The front end has damage that he states is a couple years old. At this point, we determined that he must have an electrical issue that would require hour by hour extensive diagnosis. We explained that to him and he did not agree that he should have to pay it. Unfortunately, he has a 10 year old car with body damage to the front of the vehicle in which we have determined has an extensive electrical issue that was not caused by the battery replacement and/or wheel speed sensor. The vehicle probably needs a $1,500 repair, but we can't guarantee the outcome of that repair.Initial Complaint

On 4/30/22 I brought my VW GTI into emich for an oil change. The oil change was completed and no issues of the oil conveyance system were reported on the multi point inspection. About a month later my oil sensor in my dash went off to which I discovered my car was leaking oil. I took my car back to this dealership so they could fix it. Upon the diagnosis, emich claimed there wasnt just 1 leak but 2 leaks! This business didnt help with any of the $1500 in repairs. I fully expected them to pay because there wasnt a single issue of oil leaking prior to my oil change on 4/30/22. I am fully confident this dealership caused the leaks and two reasons why: 1. The multi point inspection on 4/30/22 mentioned nothing of any oil leak because there wasnt one! Therefore, this was not a pre-existing condition prior to emich getting their hands on my car. 2. The rate at which the oil leaked put the origin of the leak happening while my car was under their care. For my dash sensor to indicate low oil level from a full oil change, the engine would have to lose approximately 1-2 quarts of oil. This couldnt have been done in days, but a month is absolutely accurate. Thus, both leaks point back to 4/30/22 on my original visit to this dealership. These facts are undeniable. I had zero problems with any oil until the day I brought my car to this dealership. This dealership refuses to acknowledge their culpability in this situation. I will give you 1 leak but 2 random leaks happening at the exact same time? I cannot accept this as just bad luck. This dealership will claim that during an oil change the oil pan gasket and upper control arm (where the leaks occurred) werent touched. But this does not consider a disgruntled employee tampering with my car or a poorly trained technician. All signs lead to the leaks arising while under emich care. This cannot be refuted. It is time for this business to accept responsibility for these leaks happening under their care.Business response

I am sorry you feel that way. We are always willing to cover mistakes on our end, but like I mentioned these are unrelated issues.

****,
I came to Emich for a routine oil change ($100) and I walked out with a massive repair **** ($1500). I would have to be the biggest fool for ever returning my car to Emich. It really is a shame because I just moved to ******** and I really wanted to establish a relationship with a VW dealer. Luckily for me,there are 3 other VW dealerships within ****** Proper.
Thank you but no thank you. Keep the 250 as I will not be coming back ever and will continue to speak out against the unjust and immoral service center at emich *******************
p.s.I need to start playing the lottery if 1:1,000,000 random events are happening to me like this.

Thank you for reaching out. When we do an oil change on a vehicle, we drain the oil from the oil pan through the oil plug and replace the oil filter. When we cause an oil leak from an oil change it leaks from either the plug (has a tendency to strip the pan and not seal) or the oil filter and/or oil filter housing. The gasket around the pan is the seal of the pan to the bottom of the motor which is untouched in an oil change. The leak from the upper timing chain cover comes from the side/top of the engine which is not near anything we would touch during an oil change. This is also a very common failure on the 2.0T engine.
As a matter of goodwill, I can offer $250 to be used in the future at our service department. Please let me know if that is acceptable and if you would like me to add that to your file. I appreciate you reaching out and I understand how this may seem to be more than a coincidence from your perspective. From my perspective these are 100% not related.
Sincerely,
**** Emich

Mr. Emich,
This email is in regards to the negative ****** Maps feedback I left. My bad experience begins like this:
On 4/30/22 I came in for a just an oil change. The *** conducted that day shows no signs of any leaks or anything wrong with my oil conveyance system. A month and half later my oil sensor went off in my car. I checked the dipstick and it was extremely low and looked under the car and it was leaking oil. I believe this leak occurred 4/30/22 when I originally brought my car to Emich VW service center and the 2 reason why:
1. The *** conducted that day showed no leaks or anything wrong with my oil system. Thus, this was not a pre-existing condition before 4/30/22.
2. When I discovered the leak on 6/17/22, it had lost 1-2 quarts judging by the dipstick. This timeframe of losing 1-2 quarts and the rate of the leak puts it back on the date of around 4/30/22 when it happened.
When I brought my car back on 6/22/22 for repair, there wasn't just 1 leak but 2 leaks (oil pan gasket and upper timing belt). The service rep. explained when an oil change is conducted the oil pan and upper timing belt aren't touched. I understand, but all signs point to the ******* of the 2 leaks on or around 4/30/22. I do not want to speculate what could have happened in the shop. The fact that it was 2 random leaks occurring the same time and no pre-existing conditions is too much of a coincidence for me to accept - it's like being struck by lightening twice in 1 day.
Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because:I am basically accusing this business of tampering with my motor and this is their response? "We are always willing to cover mistakes on our end"? This is obviously a mistake on your end. Do you really believe these two random leaks happened coincidently? I had zero issues with oil before I came in there and when I leave all the sudden I have two leaks. Do you really think I am just this unlucky? All signs point to this dealership causing these leaks on my car. Also, they said, "like I mentioned these are unrelated issues". Unrelated from what? From one of their technicians damaging my car? No sir, they are both related to when I initially came in there for service. How can you possibly refute the evidence displayed in front of you? This is the most unethical business in ********. There is a right way and wrong way to do business. When something happens like this while my car is in your position you should own up to it. You shouldn't pass it off to the customer as if you didn't play a part. Very unscrupulous business that karma will, god willing, come and haunt you.
Sincerely,
