We signed a contract with Green City Builders ie, **** in April to finish a basement. Due to a breach of contract and other concerns listed below, we decided to move on from the contract. **** agreed to move on from the contract as well, but has not been cooperative in refunding us money. We have even agreed to significantly overpay for the few days of work he attempted but he is still refusing to give us a refund Three main concerns:-Excessive delays -Work that is not up to building code and general workmanship issues -Ignoring local and state laws and regulations Our contract was from April 24th to May 27th. Work started on April 18th. It was over 2 weeks before he even visited the city office to start the permit process on May 3rd. According to the citys website he even didnt apply for a permit until May 26. We eventually gave up on **** being able to pull permits at the end of June after no progress was made and paid a local engineering firm to just do all the work. At that point **** texted he didnt have time to pull our permits- it was clear **** ***** prioritizing our work, despite being **** weeks into a 5 week project. 2) We confirmed with city building officials the building code violations. Some issues (not exhaustive) include: -Wiring the bathroom receptacle on the same circuit as the two adjacent rooms -Building exterior walls such that we cant achieve required R19 insulation -securing interior walls at the top directly to ductwork There are also just general concerns about workmanship: a lot of the studs and sections of walls will wobble with just a small amount of pressure 3) **** also hasnt been following many local and state requirements or laws -He began working on a project that requires pulling a permit before starting the work. This violation adds significant costs to our permit fees -He is not an electrician but did the work of an electrician -Using money for our project to cover other business costs, violating CRS *********Business response
