Car caught on fire, total loss 20 minutes after purchase. The Car Dealership Jambo Motors in ****** is not responding to requests to resolve. I am submitting this on behalf of my 19 year old son who saved up to buy his first car that burst into flames with him inside. On 6/28/23, my son and I visited this dealership and were advised on 3 cars in his price range, he selected the 2009 ****** Rogue. On 6/29/23, we took the car to a mechanic for inspection and they advised the engine had been washed off, so the leak(s) could not be identified until we drove it more. On 6/30/23 my son took a cashier's check for $7,851.00 ($7K for the car, plus taxes) to the dealership. He drove off the car with me behind him. By the time we got to ****** near ********** and **************, approximately 20 minutes later, I first saw a huge plume of white smoke, then a huge plume of black smoke and then a fire under the car, the brakes gave out, then the flames came up from the engine. The fire department showed up within ***** minutes. I immediately sent pictures to the Sales person I was working with ******* and called the Owner/GM Jambo. At 3 different times during this conversation, I asked to have back the $7k they received less than 1 hour ago or to have my son made whole with another car of equal value. Jambo of Jambo Motors advised me to claim the car on my insurance and asked if I wanted to purchase another car of equal or greater value. I declined the loaner car and Jambo said he needed to think about it. That all occurred on 6/30/23. I have had no response from Jambo Motors. I also called them and I went straight to the voicemail of Jambo, and straight to the vm of Sales Agent ******* and even Jambo Motors website contact # was showing as busy and I was not able to leave a voicemail. I would like either the $7k plus taxes or another same value safe car for my son at no additional cost.Initial Complaint

Bought a vehicle November 24, took the car to be serviced December 18 it broke down... Not even ************************************************************** 3 thousand dollars the issues were ignored and I found out it's not driveable and it's dangerous to drive, they also sold me a vehicle that can't pass emissions because of the problems, I know it's buyer beware with used vehicles but this is way past that... I called the owner he thought it was humorous and let me know that it's my problem and it was working when I took it off the lot he said, also cursed me badly then slammed the phone and hung up on me... I hate that these type of places are never held accountable for cheating consumers I know that with used cars it's a ****** but selling a car that can't even pass emissions is a real problem I haven't had the vehicle for 30 days...
