Apex installed $30,000 worth of aluminum coil wrapped windows in my home in 2014. The actual windows & sashes are high quality, & warranteed for life. Sadly, the aluminum coil wrap on the exterior brick mold/sills & the installation method is failing. Here are the 4 most critical problems: 1. APEX used nails to attach the wrap that are popping out, causing 2 of the window sills to start falling off. Last year we noticed one of the sills was so bad there's now water damage to the siding below the sill. We've paid a handy man to screw on the sills & reapply caulking in an effort to prevent further water damage. 2. Much of the aluminum wrap has been dented by hail over the past few years, and most recently by high winds prior to and during the December 30, 2021, #MarshallFire. 3. There are some windows without a properly mitred flashing installed, & at least one with no flashing at all. 4. We can't paint the exterior of our home until the window trim is repaired. I've been communicating with Ryan M*****, the owner of APEX, since 1/16/22, attempting to have the aluminum coil repaired/replaced. Ryan & his customer service rep, Nick, have given me several "run around" excuses like: - we only warranty our labor for 2 years, so you'll have to find someone to fix this - (I've not once asked them to make the repairs at no cost); - maintaining exterior caulk is your job; - our crews are too busy to make repairs & your problem is a small job; - the crew installing new windows at your neighbors house doesn't work for us (they wear APEX shirts & drive an APEX truck) so you'll have to see if they want to fix your trim as a side job on their day off; - if you use our crew & we schedule the work, the cost will be higher. The bottom line: we need a qualified contractor to repair our window trim. We feel that APEX should be responsible for the scheduling of that repair work. We've had two separate window contractors tell us they are not skilled enough to replace the wrap.Customer response

Hi,
I would like to update you on the resolution of this complaint. APEX is making efforts to help repair the window trim. Their director of marketing, Scott C*** came over and provided several solutions, one of which has only become available in the most recent few years. His plan is to replace the window trim with a durable, water proof brick mold that only has to be painted, which is already part of our regular maintenance. Their contractor, Tony has already called me and will be coordinating a visit to measure, provide an estimate, and order the materials. We are hopeful that the trim will get replaced in a timely manner so we can have our house painted before winter.
