I placed a phone call to get my car refinanced. My credit is very questionable at the time and the representative name ******** was able to help me get some refinancing. My mother is a cosigner on my loan and has great credit. Our interest rate only went down two points but I was happy to take the offer. I specifically asked after I was approved if I would be pay any additional payments on the term of my loan. I had original loan terms for 72 months and had already paid a year on the loan. The question was is there going to be any extra time added onto my loan? I was told no. When I looked at the contract with my new loan terms, it was back to 72 months. What that means was I'd already paid 12 months and then I'm back to my original terms of 72 months when I asked that specific question. I was told there would be no extra time added to my loan. This adds 12 more months onto my loan once once again, although my payments are a few dollars lower, it adds 12 months on to it. Therefore, adding more money onto the loan terms. This was not my objective and when I did call and question ******** he told me that he explained everything to the best of his ability and that I was yelling at him. My voice might have been raised. I will admit that but it's more like frustration because I really really did not want more time on my loan. The objective was to save money. Not spend more money or time. I have since then reached out to management and waiting for a phone call to explain how I could be so stupid and not understand what you said. I'm not a stupid woman, but now I feel like one. Beware everybody? Watch how wording can confuse you, because I think I fell for the oldest trick in the book. In the meantime, people should be aware of how things go. Make sure of your load terms.
