Nacho S******, of Sanchez Landscaping, came to our home on June 25 to make an estimate for a landscape repair and trimming, raking, estimating the job at about $850. They sent a crew on the holiday, July 4, and failed to perform the work as promised, and for which they were paid. The estimate included approximately 4.5 hours of work to do landscaping. No leveling, bush cutbacks or trim was installed as promised. Instead red mulch was poured over the existing problems. The crew spent half their time sitting in the truck, they failed to rake and trim areas around the house as promised. They have refused to return calls, have failed to respond to the complaint, and have failed to fix the problem. I am a senior citizen who has his home up for sale. The businesses' irresponsible handling of this delayed the listing on my home, and Sanchez landscaping refuses to address the problems.Business response

Nacho who is the owner met with the customer on July 1st and they discussed the work, I sent him the estimate and he did acknowledge the estimate because he responded to the email I sent with it attached, we did the work on July 4th which was a Sunday, the items on the estimate were to level the area, put down mulch and mow around the house and on the sides of the driveway, there is nothing on the estimate about raking the lawn or trimming bushes, or hauling away any kind of slash, on July 28th was the first time we had ever heard about the customer being unhappy with the work, when our workers finish a job they talk to the customer and confirm with them that everything was taken care of, and on the work site paper they have with them it has a statement that says "By signing here I am verifying that I have checked the work that has been performed and that no areas were missed and the customer did sign his name right next to the statement and he paid the same day as well, we do not require payment day of therefore if there was a problem he could have asked them to call Nacho or waited to pay until the problems were resolved. I am rejecting this response because: The information here is false. The work done was not the work described by the company's owner (Nacho S******). Multiple points are false. There was no written estimate. Mr. Sanchez as we talked about the landscaping work proposed jotted down some figures. He gave me a verbal price, no paperwork outlining the work to be done. I assumed that he was a reputable local business and trusted his word. I would not have agreed to pay $540 for landscaping work if all he was going to do was dump red mulch on the area. He said it would be raked out to remove weeds and level the group before the mulch was applied. He said the job would take 4.5 hours and it took less that 30 minutes to do the "landscaping" since the workers simply dumped mulch on the area and did no preparation. The response suggests that 'mowing' was to be done around the house. It was to be done around the drive, and I asked - and Mr. Sanchez agreed - that the area around the house be "cleaned up" - weed trimming and raking. Some raking and trim was done behind the house. Where it was most needed, along the west side, it was not done. I was given a piece of paper with no detail on it by a worker - who did not speak English well and obviously did not understand me - he asked that I sign the paper that they were finished. I complained at the time that I wanted Mr. Sanchez to come and look at the work. The 4.5 hour job he described was done in under two hours - but for more than a half hours two of his workers sat in the truck and listened to music. I had to walk down to the road and ask them to finishing the mowing in the front. The job was unsatisfactory and the business has made false statements about our agreement. The total bill was $824. The weed trimming was not good but was acceptable, but the lack of rake-up of debris left the property looking little better than when they started. The company contends I did not call them for three weeks. The crew was sent on July 4, a Sunday. I called on Tuesday the 6th and asked for Mr. Sanchez to come and look at the job and make fixes. He did not respond. I called the following Tuesday - the 13th and complained again, and again on the 20th. I have phone records - and photographs of the issues - to verify this. When I still got no response, I threatened court action. I got a call back from an assistant who promised I would get a response from Mr. Sanchez - and I got no response until filing this complaint. The company has fabricated information to defend this complaint, and has done nothing to try to discuss or resolve the problem.
