So, I lived on post here at ***************** and broke my lease early in AUG of last year. As a result, the requirement is to pay 1 additional month's rent. You are required to also close out and clear housing before moving out. This includes and inspection etc. The bottom line is that I looked at buying a new vehicle about a week ago. They told me I had a debt collection against me when reviewing my credit. I was completely unaware of this. The lean was from a company the housing company Balfour Beatty uses. I went back to the company and tried to resolve this. I also am getting other customer service representatives involved. The bottom line is that although they had my phone number and address, I was never adequately informed of this supposed outstanding debt of **** dollars. As a result, my credit has dropped approx. 60 points. This situation will cost me far more than **** dollars especially with the current market and interest rates. I was under the impression that I had in fact paid all required amounts to the company. There is a complete lack of communication that could have prevented this issue. Additionally, this is a matter of dealing with a company that supports a military contract. I am a Company commander who manages approx. 70 personnel including oversight of their finances. I am never late to pay what I owe and feel that I operate as a professional. Thus far the issue has seen no resolution. I deploy in service to the country for a sixth time in a matter of weeks. The resolution I seek would be to have the outstanding fee dropped and be free from any payment as well as my credit being fixed.
