I have paid nearly $2000 to this lawyer to help with a bankruptcy case. I specifically asked not to include my car which they did and now I'm losing it. They are also including bank accounts that are not mine but are my families and do not have anything to do with me. I have not been informed of court dates and this have no been present at very important ones. I never receive any information until after the fact and I have emails to prove it. I have spent a lot of money and was told this process would take a months and it has been four. They continue to be vague and are not helping nor fighting for my side as I requested and paid for.Business response

1. Our normal flat rate fee is $1,600.00. We gave the client a discount. She paid in full $1,150.00 per the terms of our agreement.
2. As is the case on all filings we specifically tell all clients to "Pay close attention to the lists of your assets and your debts. If a debt is not on the petition it will NOT be discharged through your bankruptcy. If you discover any errors or omissions on any of the pages please correct it on the petition." She returned the signed documents and listed no errors or omissions.
3. The reason she is losing her car has nothing to do with the bankruptcy but rather the fact she has not made a payment in 6 months.
4. We try and send emails for all items we receive from the Court but the Court mails all documents to all debtors at the address listed on their petitions, so she should have received everything.
5. She reached out to us on 09/22. She hired us on on 10/10/22. We had her initial Petition complete on 10/23/22; however she did not complete her credit counseling. She completed her counseling on 11/21 and we filed on 11/30.
6. Since being hired we have sent her 17 separate emails on various steps in the process.
7. We check our phone records and in the last 90 days we received 3 phone calls from the client and called the client 4 times.
8. The process at a minimum is 6 months and that was fully disclosed in the agreement and our initial consultation.

I am rejecting this response because: the information is inaccurate. I specifically stated not to include my car but the copies I received show it as a surrender. I received no copies of any of the paperwork until I specifically asked to be sent them. And they are not the ones I filled out but rather a redone electronic copy of the ones I filled out by hand. Also the amount of calls and email correspondence is incorrect. I have sent countless emails that were never answered including one from today. When I called I was always transferred to a secretary. And I hardly ever received a callback. The timeline was not listed as six months and I was not informed of that. I want this entire process resolved. In addition I had spoken to my credit union long before this and they have had absolutely no problem with the way I have been making payments and have been working with me during this entire process due to the fact that I was being garnished for far longer than I should have been.
