I hired this company to fabricate and install metal stairs and railings. They made and installed the stair treads and stringer. I paid them one-third of the contracted amount due, $10,777.80, at the contracted time, January 2021. The railings were partially fabricated, and I was told if I wanted them to be finished, I would have to pay the second-third of the total contracted amount. I paid another $10,777.80 on 10/11/2021. The railings were never finished. A bunch of railing parts were just dropped at our address. No plan to install them. Finally, they sent two guys to try to install the railings. They could not. The railing parts did not work together and many essential parts were missing (list attached). Even had the pieces of railing been made correctly and did fit together, the final railing would not have met building code requirements due to the excessive space between the tread and the lowest rail. This was confirmed with the building inspector. We asked another companies if they could install the railing pieces - they would not tough it. Summit Railings would not return my calls. In an effort to get my second payment back for the useless and unsafe railing, I contested the credit card charge with ***** bank. ***** agreed with me and reversed the charge back to Summit Railings. The company was mad and threatened in an 11/1/2021 email that if I didn’t reinstate the credit card charge immediately, they would put a mechanic’s lien on my house. I was planning on selling the house soon and could not do so with a lien on it, so I was forced to reverse the credit card dispute and re-pay the $10,777.80 to Summit Railings for nothing. I had to order all new railing, but Summit Railings had my money. I have an email from them saying if we returned all of the materials, we could get our money back. We returned every last piece to their shop on 11/24/2021 and have photos (attached). No return of funds. No contact at all. These guys are the worst.Initial Complaint

Hired this company ( Tim M****) back in May to replace stair railings. We have gone back-and-forth trying to get this project complete. Tim and his company didn’t have the help to do it didn’t have the product to do it. We were very patient I finally asked for my money back months ago. He said he would issue a refund and never did. I have sent him numerous text messages, phone messages, emails. Very little response. End of November he was in the hospital supposedly. Said he get back to me I’ve asked for a refund and number of times we placed a deposit of $1175. We don’t want the job done we would dislike a refund he basically ignores us
