Ditto to ******************'s comments. We had the same exp with Son Pointe in '21/'22. Foundation was poured Oct/Nov '21 & not until his framing crew started in May, '22 did THEY know how bad the foundation was. I say "they" & not "we" because even though the framers complained to him about many issues, he did not communicate them to us. He hid these issues from us & was not honest about many things. The framers (who he worked with for many years) later told us that he always shows up on the day that the logs are delivered & grabs the delivery invoice before the customers can see it. **************** was smarter than we were to figure this out. He hides the price of the logs in his "Log Package" which includes framing lumber & other items, so that you can't see how much he inflates the logs from the mill in ******. He even added an additional $15K to the original $378K at the last minute (due to "inflation"). The framers said the log invoice was only about $22K which doesn't even seem right for all that milled lumber, so perhaps there's something going on between him & the mill, but can't prove that. Eventually the framers threatened to walk off the job because they needed $53K more (than the agreed upon $113K) to substantiate all the extra work they had to do. Framers were very good and when we called a meeting with the 3 parties, us & the framers showed up with hours of due diligence and docs, while he stood there & insulted the framers. So the framers said they would never work with him again, so (having to make a choice) we fired Son Pointe him and took over as GCs to finish the home. Unfortunately for us, he pads his fee schedule to collect 70% of it for *********************** & framing, so even though we found all but 3 subs & worked FT to finish the house, he still collected his 70% of his $95K fee (that he raised from $85K at last minute). He also botched our water line from the curb, so the whole front yard had to be re-trenched AGAIN. NEVER DO BIZ W/THIS MAN - HORRIBLE
