We signed a contract with VDA Construction in April 2021 for them to remodel and add onto our kitchen. Daniel O**** and Manuel O****, son and father team. The contract states a retainer amount, then 2 installments and a final payment when project is complete and signed off by county inspectors. We have paid up to 2nd installment. The project started with Daniel not calling for the proper locates and hit our sewer line from house to septic tank, then tried to cover it up with dirt and not inform us of the damage until we noticed the hole with a broken line. Manuel fixed, project moved forward until we started questioning where materials were and why they were only working one or two days each week. We were told materials were ordered but hadn't arrived. This went on for weeks as we were also told materials such as flooring, drywall, lumber were being stored at other locations. Cabinets from home depot were ordered and canceled due to payment issue with VDA, Daniel reordered thru home depot but under his wife's name and an unknown address to us and his personal email. By now it is September and both Daniel and Manuel would not answer calls or text or emails. Needless to say, when cabinets came we had the worst time trying to get them because they were not in our name or address. October into November and we finally get a call from Manuel. He works on our project until week before Thanksgiving and have no communication since. We have sent text msgs, emails, called and get no response. We have held up our end of contract and are out supplies such as granite countertops, drywall, beam for supporting structure. Now it is January 2022 and we have a Construction zone in our home and are forced to find a contractor willing to pick up after another contractor who has been sloppy and inconsiderate to say the least and with limited funds because VDA has been paid and apparently will not abide by their own contract.
