PFC always prefers to resolve accounts voluntarily and has record of speaking with ************************ several times prior to legal action. PFC is happy to work with ************************ on a voluntary arrangement to resolve this matter amicably.Review from Tammy H

**************** should stop using these people for collections. I attempted to pay online and was unable to. I try to call but you cannot get through to a person and they don't return voice mails. So they are taking me to court for a bill less than $300 that I would just pay if they didn't make it impossible. Professional Finance Company contacted me about a debt (for my husband) from a hospital. I took the time to contact them and explain that we had ******** coverage (on their recorded line). PFC then explained that they are unable to close the case unless they are contacted by the hospital to do so. I then contacted the hospital to resolve this issue in which the hospital responded by saying, it was "in collections" and that "the account is no longer with them". PFC, *** is fully aware that they are not able to charge ******** recipients because they have been dealing in medical collections since ****. They are experts in knowing that there are laws that prevent them from collecting this debt. However, PFC responded by filing a lawsuit to collect this debt. I can see that by the previous responses that this will go to "the law firm" (which I would be grateful if it could) so they can respond to the order from the Judge for mediation. I just don't want PFC to continue to avoid addressing their lack of due diligence in the accounts in which they choose to collect on. Thank you.Professional Finance Company (PFC USA) Response

***'s attorney reached out and discussed this matter with the consumer. PFC offered to dismiss the action if the consumer could provide any evidence of ******** eligibility for the dates of service in question and the consumer refused to provide any such evidence. The information that PFC has received is that commercial insurance was used for the dates of service at issue and that the provider only had ******** eligibility for the patient on later dates of service. PFC's offer to dismiss the matter upon provision of relevant ******** information still stands.Review from Shirley G

PFC appreciates the opportunity to address this matter. We have spoken to the consumer many times and had reached an agreement to get the account paid. While the consumer is correct that the statute of limitations is 6 years, the payments made on the account had tolled the statue of limitations and it has been less than 6 years since the last payment made. As always, PFC is willing to work with consumers to resolve their accounts in an amicable manner.Review from Tami B

I received a phone call a month ago from this company's attorneys. The gal that called couldn't give me an itemized bill. She said they didn't have access to it. When I called back, the phone was answered "Hello". Not a business greeting. My bill was from 2018 . It is now 5 years later and they sent me a summons that I'm being sued! After talking to the attorneys secretary we discovered that their first request was sent to an old address of mine. They refused to waive court costs/fees. We appreciate the feedback and opportunity to respond. PFC only refers accounts to its law firm partners for legal action as an avenue of last resort when all other efforts have failed. PFC will follow up with the law firm to ensure that the requested documentation is provided as requested. As the account is now being serviced by the law firm, PFC must direct further specific questions to the firm.Review from Jason J

The company will not allow me to make payments via their website. I must pay the entire amount on the website. When I mail a check to the company, the company will not update my information or amount paid. Thus, they are able a accrue more interest on the account. PFC has many payments options available online and would be happy to assist Mr. J***** in setting these up. Checks are applied to the account upon receipt, though it can take time for checks sent by mail to reach PFC due to **** delays. PFC has communicated with Mr. J***** by phone and in writing each time he has reached out and is happy to answer any questions he may have.Review from C. B.

Professional Finance Company, Inc reported false amounts to my credit report, refused to remove them even after a written request of debt validation was sent to them. They were misleading about the amount I owed and paid. They stated legal fees and interest would be removed if I paid both medical amounts in full, then led me to believe the amount I paid did not include the legal fees. Two days later I received an email stating the legal fees were in fact charged in the amount. They refused to validate the debt or provide a breakdown and continued to request the full amount be paid or I would be seen in court. When I called to get a copy of ALL recorded phone calls, I was denied a copy due to company policy. I was misled to believe additional fees were removed so I would pay them anyways and didn't find out until I received the email. PFC has reviewed the account in question and does see that PFC did agree to waive interest and did so, closing the accounts as paid. Ms. B**** has accounts that were not included in legal action and it was explained that the settlement reached was only related to legal accounts several times. PFC is happy to assist in resolving the remaining accounts.Customer Response

Your PFC argent agreed to wave $147 in court cost that were reported it to my credit in June but never awarded to PFC legally. They were also never disclosed in the several times I called for the details until that call when I was going to pay it out. I also requested they be removed from my credit or they provide a debt validation and was denied that twice even in writing through *******. It was reported back as accurate when in fact it was not because you included legal fees your company was not awarded by the courts and refused to show any validation. The representative, agreed to remove the $147 so I would pay the two accounts and close them, he left the phone call to get it approved by his supervisor. Interest was never included in either amount to begin with so “interest fees” are not being disputed, it’s your distraction. It’s the $147 court cost I was charged and I have proof of it. The PFC representative lied so I would pay the accounts and now PFC refuses to turn over the recorded call calling it “company policy”. It’s a violation of FDCPA to mislead a consumer about false amounts they owe or are paying. Mrs. B**** does not have any accounts with PFC, so their service is not needed. This company is terrible. Their representatives have no manners what so ever. I set up payment arrangements with them when that expired I tried to call and set them back up but they refused to accept my payments. Later I get a notice from their attorneys. So I called again and the first person I spoke to hung up on me (not the first time). I called back and finally spoke to someone who was nicer. She told me there was no notes about my previous call. She also told me the notes on my account did not say anything about me trying to set up arrangements before. I know they record these calls so surely they can listen to the conversation and hear that I in fact did try. This company is very difficult to work with and does not care about you. They also do incorrect notations obviously. I recommend you recording your calls as well because theirs will be lost and incorrectly noted on your account.
