We had hardwood floors installed and refinished in our home. The first night that they were completed my wife initially thought the floors looked fine. We payed the bill immediately as requested from the company. My wife was concerned about a lien on the home. The more we looked at the floor the more we realized that there were some swirls on the floor and they did not look right. We contacted Robert D***** and asked him to look at them and give us a resolution. He said that he contacted his employees and they told him that it was caused by the sander vibrating on the floor because some boards may not be nailed properly. We were concerned by that since Robert installed the flooring. As it became light the next day we noticed that most of the floor looked the same way. We contacted another contractor to get a second opinion to see if our expectations were too high. This contractor informed us that the finishing was not done properly. The only way to repair it would be to sand it back down and start the finish process all over again. The cost to do that was going to be $5,700.00. When we contacted Robert he said that there was no reason to re-do it because the problem would still be the same. He stated that all floors have little things on them and they are never going to look like a table top. We ended up paying another contractor to re-do the floors and paid the $5,700.00. When we told Robert that we wanted compensation for that he responded that since your wife said it looked fine and you paid me already I will not be giving you any compensation for your additional expense. We had a painter that re-painted all the base boards after Legacy finished the first time. The same painter came back and touched up the base boards after the second time we got the floors done. The painter commented on how much better the floors looked now compared to the first time that he painted. We want to be reimbursed for our additional cost $5,700.00 and warn others about Robert.
