Air Methods is a terrible company that allowed a pilot to put my daughter in a hospital on Christmas Day. This was all on their companies time and account. They have denied all responsibility because their pilot let his 18 yo daughter drive and ****** my daughter. He even tried to remove her from the scene. I heard he was fired yet they deny responsibility.

Mr. ****** claims relate to the alleged actions of an off-duty, former teammate acting outside the scope of his employment in violation of company policy, and the former teammates daughter.  Neither ************** nor his daughter was a customer or patient of ********************.

I received a letter from *********************** (collection agency) stating that I owe $69,843.37. I requested an itemized list of the things that comprise the aforementioned amount, but I was not given any explanation of the amount at all. The request I made was in writing, and it was made approximately 2 months ago.

My husband was involved in a serious car accident on 12/9/2019 in which he broke ********. He was airlifted from the scene, we were unable to choose who took him to ************************ Hospital. Keep in mind he was hit by someone head on, the other driver was unhurt. Rocky Mountain Holdings was immediately hounding us for insurance information in which our attorney promptly gave to them. My husband, nor I was in any shape to handle this. Our attorney told us he would handle all of this. We never received a single bill from them until last year, 2022. By this point all medical bill, attorney fees, etc had been settled. And according to the attorney and our insurance company there were no other outstanding bills from the wreck to be paid. I assume if this bill or this mode of transportation was out of our network thats on them. We did not choose them. He was in no shape to make that choice and this is almost 4 years later and on August 22, 2023 we get a statement from *********** *** for $54,580.49. This is absolutely ridiculous!

      Customer response

I do not feel we are responsible for this bill. It was not sent in a timely manor and we were not given a choice on the transportation. We were also unaware that it was out of our insurance network. Furthermore this is illegal price gouging.

I was transported by air from one hospital to another. Air Methods was the provide. My insurance company paid benefits and my deductible was completely satisfied. Air Methods doesnt assert that I actually owe it money but it continues to call me and assert that I have to help it appeal my insurance company so that it can be paid more. Even after telling it Im not helping it, it continues to call and send me correspondence suggesting I owe $64,084.18 even though it has told me that I do not. It is harassing me.

I am rejecting this response because:I did respond and assist it in its first appeal which was rejected by the insurance company. i do not have personal liability for any outstanding balance. Its company has harassed me, calling me several times in a day, day after day. It has sent me correspondence that I do not owe the outstanding amount. Please have the company provide information of how I am liable for its outstanding amount - it has not provided such to me. I'm certainly willing to litigate if necessary.

      Sincerely,
