On Tuesday, June 18, of last week, I went responded to an advertisement for a 59 dollar dental cleaning special that I saw posed one week prior on Tuesday, June 11. I went in to the appointment, and they took x-rays, and charged me an additional 150 dollars for a specialized panoramic x-ray that I never agreed to. The dentist then came in, first tried to sell me on an upgraded 100 dollar cleaning, and then proceeded with the dental exam. He then told me I had four cavities as a result of teeth grinding, signs of gum disease in my mouth, and that I should buy a mouthguard from him for ********************************************************* a bill for the future cleanings that he told me were required, which totaled over 3000 dollars. Emotionally overwhelmed with this news, I agreed to a payment plan which would have me paying between 145 and 119 dollars every month. He then left me in a closed room with his receptionist who tried to talk me into the agreement. I was in his office for almost two hours, and he never gave me the cleaning that I initially came in for. I went to another dentist a week later on Tuesday, June 25, to determine if anything he told me had any merit, and they told me I have no signs of gum disease, no cavities, and in fact teeth grinding should not result in decay.I am looking both to report this business to protect people going forward, but to find a way out of this payment plan that I was forced into.
