My husband took the phone into UBreakIFix and was told it was the battery when first brought into the store, and they told him they could change the battery for $150. When I went to pick up the device it wasn't charged up, which I thought was strange since they just replaced the battery. But I gave them the benefit of the doubt, and decided to charge the phone in the car and when we plugged it in in the car, the phone immediately shut off just as it had when we originally brought it in. I went back in and told them they didn't fix the phone, it is still doing the exact same thing as when we first brought it in. They plugged it in and sure enough, it immediately turned off, so then they told me it must be a motherboard issue ($599 cost) even though the battery did need to be replaced (convenient since there is no way for us to prove that). I asked why they didn't try charging the battery after they replaced it, since that was the issue we had? Seems like that would be the first step after replacement to make sure that fixed said problem. We were told that it worked for them when they had to the run their "diagnostics" after replacing the battery, but there is no way that is the case since all three times it was plugged in (twice by me and once by them), the phone immediately shut down. I don't think they did anything to said phone and just made $157.49. They didn't offer any reparations.
