Liftech installed hydrostatic piers on the south east corner of my home. Their field team moved my A/C unit and completely damaged it. There install occurred in January and damage wasn't noticed until i turned the unit on April 1st. FixIt 24/7 was able to document and confirm the damage was due to moving the unit. The unit had a dent in the side and the line sets were pinched shut. Due to heat index increasing the next week i had to get the unit replaced same day. Liftech was not available the day i got the service and a voicemail was left. I reached out to Lift tech with the information and invoice for the new A/C installation. They are refusing to pay for the install and take accountability for the damages created. I know have to file an insurance claim. This put me $14k in the hole. Not to mention my premium for insurance will now go up.Business response

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. At Liftech, we strive to minimize any collateral damage during our work. This is why our agreement, signed before starting, specifies that Liftech is not liable for damages to personal property and we suggest that the client remove any valuable items prior to work starting. Before having reasoble time to process the request, you chose to hire an emergency repair company, incurring a $14,000 expense. We believe the unit was not in full disrepair, and if given the chance, we would have used our own vetted HVAC subcontractors to fix the issue more affordably. Due to the signed agreement and your independent actions, we cannot assume financial responsibility for the emergency repair cost.
We regret the inconvenience and are open to discussing any further concerns.

I am rejecting this response because:Regardless of an agreement. An regardless of what Liftechs opinion on the extent of damage was. There is enough phot documentation to prove otherwise. The line sets were pinched and needed replacing. There was a dent in the A/C unit that was not fixable. Pictures can be referenced. I called Liftech that morning and since it was a Saturday there was no office presence. A detailed voicemail was left with a call back number. I had to reach out via phone again Tuesday because no one on their team reached out. It was apparent that they had no interest in resolving the issue. I made the decision to get an emergency install because of the oncoming weather. I am not going to jeopardise the comfort of my two and a half year old son wife and 6 months old puppy because a company I paid in full to fix my foundation broke my A/C unit during their install. I am the.one paying the damages Liftech created. I even asked if I could get a credit to finish foundation work on my house. To maybe meet in the middle. What was shut down. There is zero accountability for these damages and it is completely unacceptable.
Sincerely,

Hi ****,
Our records indicate that you did indeed leave a voicemail to our automated answering system on Saturday, June 1. Our business hours are Monday-Friday, 8am - 5pm. You were connected with our project manager that week, and that is when you mentioned that the work was completed already. Just in case, we called 24/7 Fix-It, and they confirmed that the repair was done on Saturday, June 1st. Liftech was not given sufficient time to inspect and address the issue before you engaged another company for the repairs on the same day. According to Colorado Revised Statutes Title 13-20-803.5, contractors are entitled to a notice of claim and the opportunity to inspect and repair any alleged defects before any third-party repairs are undertaken.
You mentioned that Liftech had no interest in resolving the issue, but that simply isnt true. We have commitment to every customer, but to only have a few hours on the weekend from the initial claim to resolve the issue is just not enough time. We were able to connect the following week, but again the work was already completed. Given the opportunity, we would have provided temporary window A/C units to keep your family comfortable while we had our vetted repair subcontractor fix the lines to the unit.
The bottom line is that since we were not afforded this opportunity, Liftech cannot be held liable for the repair bill. We strive to provide prompt and effective service, and we regret that we were not given the chance to resolve this matter in accordance with state regulations.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us directly.Initial Complaint

Mr ****** contracted with Liftech on October 15th of 2020 for concrete work. The scope of the work was to replace the front porch and stoop, front walkway, driveway, garage floor and back patio. The work was completed on October 29th. The customer was billed on October 31st and paid in full on November 6th.
Mr ****** had no concerns at this point. On Dec 1st, Darren ********* (owner) visited the property to install a handrail on the front porch. Darren met with Mr ****** at that time where Mr. ****** had expressed a concern about concrete splatter that got on some of the pieces of moss rock surrounding the front porch. Mr ****** agreed that he would purchase additional moss rock and Liftech would reimburse him for that purchase. Liftech offered to reinstall the moss rock for him but he informed us that would be necessary and that his wife was very particular about the garden and would put the stones were she wanted them. At that visit Mr. ****** was satisfied and complimentary about his experience with Liftech. 2 months later Liftech received an invoice for $1070.20 for a pallet of moss rock. Our understanding at the time that we agreed to replace a few pieces of rock, not an ENTIRE pallet. Nonetheless, we cut Mr. ****** a check for $1070.20 and it was our understanding that this satisfied our “agreement” with him for “damages.”.
On or about May 20th of this year Mr. ****** contacted Liftech with concerns about the concrete work that had been performed at his house 7 months earlier. Mr ****** asked that a representative the company come out to look at his concerns. Micah ************, our field superintendent fielded that service call. Mr. ****** had pointed out in a handful of areas around the property where he was not happy with discoloration of his concrete and apparent splatter on his brick. Mr. ************ could not identify what exactly he was talking about at the time but said that he would be happy to come back and wash the brick if it he’d like. Mr. ************ stopped by the property on May 27th and washed the brick. Mr. ****** seemed satisfied at the time and even tipped Mr. ************ with a case of beer.
On or around June 18th of this year Mr. ****** contacted our office to say that he had more concerns about his concrete. In an effort to put this to bed Darren *********, one of the owners as well as Brandt ******* our Concrete Customer Service Representative went out to the property to talk to Mr. ******. Again, Mr. ****** was apparently pointing out very vague issues with his concrete that could not clearly be identified as any real problem. We reminded Mr. ****** that that the work was completed almost 8 months earlier and he seemed very happy at the time and that we’ve been back twice now in an effort to address concerns of his. Still not clear on what it was that Mr. ****** was looking for I simply asked him “Mr. ******, what exactly is it that you want, do you want a refund?” His immediate answer was “yes that would be great!” My response was “Well we’re not refunding your money.” Mr. ****** proceeded to go into the house where he grabbed the invoice returned to the backyard and showed us where he had made some notations on his paperwork. His notations indicated that he felt as though he deserved a refund of approximately $3600 for poor workmanship. We offered to remove and replace all of Mr. ******‘s concrete and do it all over again and his immediate response was “no, I don’t want to go through this with you again and my wife especially does not want go through this again and you don’t want to get her involved.”
As a small business, we’re not in the practice of giving people refunds simply because they are dissatisfied with work, however, we are in the business of giving customers what they pay for and our intent is always to make it right. That is ultimately our intent and Mr ******’s only option as far as we’re concerned. We feel as though Mr. ****** was only interested in getting money back. To date, we don’t feel as though Mr. ****** has any defect or problem with work the was performed in October of last year.Customer response
