Our heating system occasionally breaks down and stops working completely especially when we haven't turned it on for some time. Our typical heating guy would come by to fix the problem. This time however, he said that the only way for the problem to be fixed was by replacing the entire boiler system. He estimated that the replacement unit would cost $2000. As written on the invoice, $2000 was put down on 12/11/2022. A few days later, when coming back to continue inspecting the faulty unit, he asked for an additional $2000 to repair his car. That payment was made on 12/16/2022. Communications went back and forth through means of text messages in regards to when the unit would arrive after it was ordered and when it would be installed. He says that due to it nearing the holidays at the time, shipping would take longer than expected. After confronting him about this, his text messages became more and more sparse, sometimes going as far as refusing to respond at all for extended periods of time. He would refuse to answer our calls and was very argumentative. When asking for the money back, he said that he has to return the unit and would have the company write and mail us a check with the money. That check has yet to arrive. The situation escalated when he suddenly informed us that he was on his way to ******* with our money. He has not contacted us since and we have not seen the money returned to us.

On June 11, 2022 we had a Air Conditioner go out on a rental house at *************************************************. I had worked with ************************************* in the past and after inspection, he recommended we replace the unit. I forwarded ******* $3000 via Zelle in order for him to purchase a unit for installation the following week. On Monday June 13th ******* indicated that the unit would arrive by truck on Wednesday and he could install it on Thursday or Friday that week. The unit was never installed and after asking ******* what happened he indicted that he was missing a "coil" and it would arrive soon. A week later ******* reached out that he needed $500 and that he would apply it towards the labor costs for the ** unit. I again Zelled his $500 with the thought the unit would be installed that week. After many texts and phone calls into late June and early July to find out when the unit would be installed, he gave me an excuse that his truck was broken down and that he could not install it. On Saturday July 30th after numerous more text messages two weeks after " his truck was supposedly fixed", he said his truck was still in the shop and offered me 2 choices: wait to install the unit, or refund me the money. I immdiately responded Yes to his refund offer and offered that he Zelle me the money. He is now saying that he has to return the unit and wait for a refund from the company before he can pay me. It is now Tuesday August 2nd and he has yet to reimburse me or give me a date when I will get the money. Its one excuse after another and I feel he may never have purchased the ** unit to begin with. I have a string a text messages (and voice mails) that I can provide.
