I had sold some rings, and silver, to this company and I told the owner that I had some regrets about items I had sold, approximately a few days after the transaction. The owner told me that he was obligated to hold on to the items for 30 days. I waited the 30 days when I went back to try to look at the items the owner was unreasonable would not allow me to actually look at the items, he wanted to charge me sales tax even though on his website it says that there is no sales tax for any transactions and he was just completely unreasonable to deal with. I want to purchase my items back, and not at quadruple the price that he paid. I'm so upset at the owners lack of integrity, that I do not want for him to keep any item I've previously sold because I do not want for someone so lacking in character to profit off of me.

      BBB,

Thank you for the inquiry.  I am happy to tell my side of this issue.  This customer initially sold us some 10 and 14 kt gold rings, then called a few days later with seller's remorse.  I told her I would hold them the required 30 days as a favor which she appreciated.  The price of gold happened to rise during that timerframe so when she came back to rebuy the ring, it was higher.  The ring in question weighed over 3 grams over 14kt plus stone weight so we would typically buy it for $75 sell it for $150.  When she was given the price, she became argumentative in front of several groups of customers during a busy afternoon, so I told her I would accept $120 to end the issue.  She ultimately refused and grabbed the ring from the pad it was on and rushed out the door after dropping $80 on the pad.

This is a prime example of a good deed does not go unpunished, as this customer was given a favor by holding the merchandise on her behalf and allowed to "purchase" an item at SIGNIFICANTLY below market pricing to appease her.  I also had to pay the 5% ******** Sales tax, so my net sale was just over $75 on an item we paid about the same amount for 30 days prior, before gold increased.  Jewelry sales are taxable in ********.

I would like the customer to simply say thank you rather than attack me for giving them a great deal and not pursuing further action when they rushed out the door with merchandise after they refused to pay a discounted price.  I would love to sell things at quadruple the price from what we buy it at, but the reality is that jewelry items have very small margins.  Thank you.

Complaint: 16818615I am rejecting this response because: This business owner is not being honest. I had been in to this establishment on multiple occasions, and he isn't even referencing the correct receipt. He is not some kind person, doing a good deed, but people without a conscience often think they're a victim... No, he's a con man. He told me that, by law I had to wait one month, and, had he not been too busy berating me in front, in front of other customers, he would have seen his error was in not referencing the correct receipt... That and he was being greedy. His website states NO SALES TAX, and he wanted to charge me 5% sales tax to buy my item back (on top of the fact that he only paid me about $40 for this item to begin with). No, his response does not accept any responsibility. He wants pity, and he is money hungry. Sincerely,
