On April 29, 2024, Liftech completed a project involving the removal and replacement of a driveway, walkway, and front porch at a customers residence. During this process, our installation crew accessed the water spigot at the back of the house for necessary water supply. It is standard practice for our concrete crews to utilize onsite water sources, as stipulated in our agreement, which includes customer consent for the use of their utilities such as water and electricity.
While using the water spigot, it was subsequently discovered that a leak existed in the water pipe connected to the spigot on the interior of the house. This leak resulted in water infiltrating the house while the hose was connected. Unfortunately, this was an undetectable issue at the time of our work. The spigot was turned off upon the completion of our tasks on the same day.

In response to the homeowner's concern regarding water in the bathroom, a project manager from Liftech visited the property the next day to inspect the damages. No water lines were actively leaking at that inspection. He recommended the homeowner consult a certified plumber for a detailed examination of the plumbing lines near the affected area. Flatirons Plumbing was subsequently engaged by the homeowner and confirmed the presence of a leak in the water line running from the interior of the house to the exterior spigot. We received and reviewed the invoice from Flatirons Plumbing, which clearly indicated that the leak was preexisting and undetectable from the outside.

Although we empathize with the homeowners situation, Liftech cannot assume responsibility for preexisting conditions related to the interior plumbing.

Since the completion of our work, we have received multiple invoices, including those from the remediation company and the plumber, along with legal threats from the homeowner. We stand by our agreement terms and our position that this situation falls outside of our liability scope.
