I am writing to file a formal complaint against Dunn-Rite Hardwood Floors regarding the substandard service provided for a custom sand-in-place white oak floor installation. We have previously engaged ****-Rite for similar services, but unfortunately, their recent work has fallen below acceptable standards. Here are the key points of concern:Inadequate Acclimation Period: Dunn-Rite Hardwood Floors only allowed the wood to acclimate for 11 days, which is significantly less than the industry-recommended timeframe. This oversight likely contributed to the poor quality of the installation.Lack of Supervision: The owner, ****, failed to oversee the installation personally and instead sent an inexperienced installer to carry out the work. This lack of supervision resulted in numerous flaws and deficiencies in the finished product.Poor Workmanship: From the outset of the project, it was evident that the quality of workmanship was unsatisfactory. Despite expressing our concerns to ****-Rite, no meaningful steps were taken to rectify the situation. The floor exhibits multiple joints and loose boards, indicating shoddy craftsmanship.Unprofessional Conduct: Throughout the process, the owner, ****, displayed unprofessional behavior by deflecting responsibility and offering baseless excuses for the subpar work. Despite multiple requests, **** has failed to provide evidence to support his claim of taking moisture readings before installation, which raises further doubts about the diligence and professionalism of Dunn-Rite Hardwood Floors. Despite providing photographic evidence and documented correspondence highlighting the deficiencies, ************* has failed to take accountability or offer adequate solutions.Given the aforementioned issues, I strongly advise against engaging Dunn-Rite Hardwood Floors for any flooring projects. Their declining work quality and lack of professionalism have resulted in a disappointing experience and an unsatisfactory outcome.

I have always been honest and professional with any customer.  Precision construction did not turn the in floor heating on while the wood was aclimating for over 3 weeks. If it was on there was no thermostat hooked up to adjust the heat. I have worked for this person for many years but not directly for him until this first job he started for his own company.  None of the previous jobs had any issues as the wood was delivered and my instructions were followed for turning up the in floor heat. Unfortunately this time he failed to follow the instructions and 6 months later the floor had significantly shrunk. I have always made it clear to contractors I will not be able to warranty a wood floor (wood being a product of nature) installed over in floor heat. We made numerous attempts to fix the floor after it shrunk ,but it came to my attention he didn't follow my instructions to turn up the in floor heat while the wood was acclimating. The owner of Precision construction is not honest and I have multiple people he used to work with that will say the same thing. He has stolen from people got drunk and totalled his truck and ended up in the hospital.  He has moved to the mountains to start his own company and messed up big time with not making sure the infloor heat was actually on. He has lost other building jobs he had planned and had to do the painting cause he's slow on work. He blatantly lied about the infloor heat being on and admitted he never turned the heat up while the wood was their for 3 weeks acclimating. He stayed it wouldn't have mattered. However every other job previous they would crank the in floor heating up every evening and on the weekends to make sure the wood was over dried. He really messed up and is now blaming me. I would not recommend hiring Precision construction. His financial problems are the main reason for this complaint towards me and the fact he can't admit when he made mistake. I only work off referrals and once a year I have a problem customer that goes on my no ********************** list. I'm moving forward with my best intentions but I won't deal with dishonest individuals whatsoever.

I am rejecting this response because:

The claim that the wood acclimated for over three weeks is false. Our documented communication clearly shows that the wood was only allowed to acclimate for 11 days, a significantly shorter period than the industry standard. His attempt to attribute the issues with the flooring to the absence of in-floor heating is baseless and contradicted by the facts. It was July when the floors were installed, rendering the need for heating unnecessary. The gaps and deficiencies in the flooring were evident immediately after installation, disproving his claim that the wood shrank over time due to lack of heat.

The personal attacks and slanderous remarks about the owner of Precision Construction are entirely irrelevant to the matter at hand and serve only to deflect responsibility. Accusing someone of financial problems and making unsubstantiated claims about their character is unprofessional and inappropriate.

It is disappointing that ************* refuses to take accountability for the subpar workmanship and unprofessional conduct displayed. Instead, they choose to fabricate excuses and shift blame onto others.

I urge the BBB to investigate thoroughly and take appropriate action. *************'s failure to deliver satisfactory service must be addressed.

      Sincerely,

      ***********************

The owner of precision construction is clearly not willing to take any responsibility for his wrongdoing. I have worked with him for over a decade on other projects where he was just a project manager not the owner and never had any kind of issues like this because they always had the infloor heat cranked on high for several weeks while the flooring was acclimating.  He did not do as he was told and what he knew was right  and he did not do what he knew he should have done. He may have had the infloor heat turned on low but there was no thermostat to adjust the temperature to high in order to dry the flooring out above and beyond what is needed to. I never have offered a warranty on in floor heating jobs to begin with and I won't Start now.  The job was installed tight and looked great when we left. So that's a flat out lie. And he's been known to lie about other things and also rob other people in the past that he worked for years. To say the floor didn't shrink once the heat was turned on all winter is insane. It's a lie!  ******** with that kind of class your gonna go real far with that *****. I won't respond back to your lies or your slander again.  This conversation is over.

      Complaint: 21449292

I am rejecting this response because:

I must address the inaccuracies and unprofessionalism in *************'s latest response.

Contrary to their claims, I never received instructions to adjust the in-floor heating during the acclimation period, nor was there any reason for such adjustments due to the prevailing temperature conditions. Despite multiple requests, ********* failed to provide the promised moisture readings, raising doubts about their diligence and professionalism.

The assertion that the flooring was installed tightly and without issues is untrue. From the outset, there were evident gaps in the flooring, as documented in our communications. ********* acknowledged these issues and assured me they would be rectified, which unfortunately never occurred.

Furthermore, *********'s attempt to shift blame and discredit my character is untrue, unwarranted, and unprofessional. Their baseless accusations and personal attacks only serve to further undermine their credibility.

Additionally, *********'s installer caused a stain on an expensive countertop. They attempted to rectify the situation, but in the end, Precision Construction was left to take care of the issue.

      Sincerely,

      ***********************

I left ************** a review online, saying I do not recommend this company because **** missed the appointment to give an estimate, twice, and never called me or my realtor to tell me he wasn't able to make it. **** replied to me via text using obscene language, and threatened to *** me. I need him to know it is not ok to use such language against me, nor is it ok to threaten a lawsuit against me because I reviewed his company. Obscene text message attached.

First of all she's completely lying about everything to do with not meeting her realtor or texting her or calling him as I have evidence of both. We were at the wrong address because vsge sent us the wrong address saying it was north when it's not north when it's not north on the address. We were late and the realtor is a complete joke that he couldn't wait 15 mins for us to get to the right address m however just because we couldn't get her an estimate right away because we could not meet her real estate agent on time as we were at the wrong address gives her no right to file put a bad review about my company when we never even did any work for her. I have allready spoken to my attorney and we are filing a lawsuit for defamation of character immediately. I'm so glad we didn't work for this nut job lady after all. But I will be seeing her in court if she doesn't retract both of these reviews immediately. *****************.
