I have the operation in this hospital on April 28, 2022, and I have medical insurance. There was a $2,688 bill that should be paid by the insurance company, but the doctor did not give the insurance company an authorization number overdue and the insurance company did not pay the money. This is the responsibility of the hospital or the doctor, and they did not contact the insurance company to deal with it. They now let the debt collection company come to me to collect this account, and they also charge me interest, which is unreasonable. My English is not very good, I have made many phone calls to no avail, it has affected my life.Initial Complaint

In May of 2021 our daughter was admitted to *********************, and then transferred to *******************, with a TBI with a brain bleed. Centura, which owns ******************* is in nerwork with our insurance, which is United Healthcare. ******************* let four Physicians from Premier Emergency Surgeons, look in on our daughter, even though they were out of network. Over the past 19 months Premier Emergency Surgeons have requested, and received, multiple appeals from United Healthcare, even though they had been paid the amount negotiated with Centura, They recently turned over, to a ****************** almost $3,000 in surprise billing, after they have already been paid. This is a Scam! These Physicians shouldn't be allowed in a hospital that is in network,Business response

To Whom It May ********************************* you for bringing our attention to this matter regarding your daughters outstanding medical bills with Premier Emergency Surgeons. We appreciate the initial effort you made in working with our billing company to appeal the claims to your insurance company and recognize that this has been an extended process given that dates of service of your daughters medical treatment occurred in May of 2021. Our office and billing company has had numerous conversations with you regarding your daughters accounts, weve assisted you with the appeal process to your insurance company, and offered payment options for the remaining balances. After no response from you or your daughter regarding the outstanding balances the accounts were sent to collections in a final attempt to collect the debt. We take the accusation of unethical and illegal business conduct extremely seriously and would like to again point out, as Centura, our office, and the billing company have explained to you at length, the 2021 ******** Surprise Billing Act applies to insurance plans that are funded in the ***************** only and unfortunately, your particular insurance plan is funded in ******** and does not fall under this ******** legislation. Additionally, Premier Emergency Surgeons is a completely separate business entity from Centura and is not a party to any contract negotiations made between Centura and any other insurance companies or commercial payers; therefore claim negotiations made between the hospital and your insurance company are not applicable to claims for services rendered by any Premier Emergency Surgeons providers. We appreciate your recent assistance with the successful appeal to United for the enhanced benefits of one of your daughters outstanding medical claims and for making a final payment on her other accounts. We are glad to hear your daughter is doing so well in her recovery and wish her luck in her future endeavors.
