My (former) husband and I filed an insurance claim for our leaking roof after a hail storm in June 2023, which was granted. The company contracted to complete the roofing and other damages as a result of the hail storm, EcoSheildExteriors, quoted a price and the insurance company issued a check in June which EcoSheildExteriors cashed. We have yet to receive the promised services. When we've reached out to the project manager, she said it was delayed due to the volume of homes being repaired, then, months later, it was delayed due to inability to procure a permit, then on 9/7, we were told shingles would be delivered on 10/30 or 11/1. When we reached out today, we were told there is a shingle shortage. I requested the contact information for the company owner and she (*********************) told me that when the boss contacted me tomorrow, I would have the contact information. She woud not give me his contact information. She then told me they would just be refunding the money and that she was sure the boss would recommend parting ways. This seems abrupt when we have been strung along for 4 months with no sign of the roof being fixed. The check.was issued by the ins company on 6/1/23, and the company cashed it shorty thereafter. The company has benefitted from having $35,000+ in their bank account and it has accrued interest for them. This is a bad practice and feels like theft.
