Techs they send to your home seem good/friendly and experienced. However the back office person (Karen) is very rude and mean. Probably one of the worst I've seen in any business. I won't be using them for anything for this reason. Extremely rude and argumentative and nasty. Also, be warned, they will milk you for extra costs way more than other companies adding things on they don't actually do or inflating the cost 10 times more. You ask them to line item out the cost and they won't. They (Karen) won't tell you because they know it's wrong. They just give you a single cost with no explanation on cost breakout. You would easily would win in lawsuits if you wanted but probably not worth it unless its a big job. Avoid this company like the plague unless they hire a new back office person. Unfortunately companies like ******** **** ****** use them to perform most work. I will be also complaining to *** to make sure they never assign this company again. I feel bad for the tech because he was awesome

    Hyland Services, LLC Response

    02/07/2023

This individual is a warranty company customer and not a direct pay customer. This person was very upset with his warranty company not covering what he believed they should and took it out on the office. He was informed that all coverage determinations are made by the warranty company and that he needed to dispute with them and not us. He continued to bombard the office, and upon arrival, the techs about his upset that he had to pay for non-covered charges. The warranty company supplied him with the itemized list he claims he did not receive, and he showed it to the techs on site asking them for a refund. He was informed that it is our policy that should something on that list not be used, a refund would be issued; however, all items were used, and additional work was needed that he was not charged for. He is mostly upset after his last attack on the office about his non-covered charges (which again he was told that he needed to contact his warranty company to dispute coverage and that we do not make those decisions), in addition to arguing that a tech did not need to come out an diagnose a new problem but just needed to show up with a repair kit and to “just send the damn tech out”-followed by hanging up, ended up with us requesting that he be transferred to another vendor. He is now vindictively filing bad reviews.

This is a complete lie. I understood completely that I had to pay for services not covered by warranty. I was not upset at all that my warranty company didn't cover everything. They covered most of it and it was minor stuff remaining. Just putting the water pressure tank on the other side of my water heater was all that wasn't covered. In this case, it was a simple PVC pipe reroute (about 2 feet of PVC and a brass connecter). The tech told me onsite that the money I had to pay up front (over $ 650 was to cover any unexpected issues that could arise, but in my case it, there was none and tech did the work in about ~15 minutes. He said he couldn't tell me ****** I would be refunded but it would be most of it and to call front office to get refund. ************ "*****" who I asked nicely for refund, said no, which is when I got upset. (of course anyone would). I had another plumber come in and they said they would have charged no more than $120 (including labor for showing up) for what they did (minus the labor if they were already there for something else, it would have been about $50). Max ****** he said maybe a company would charge if they were "high" price would be $220. Anything more would be a complete ripoff. This was a local plumber from a company that has been around over 30 years that told me this. They laughed when I showed them what Hyland did and what they charged me.
