Additional Information for Blue Forest Farms, LLC

On July 1, 2022, as part of an industry-wide review of CBD businesses in our service area, Better Business Bureau contacted Blue Forest Farms, LLC concerning the following advertising claims found on their website, https://blueforestfarms.com/:  

- "CBD Wellness Products By Benefit. Pain & Inflammation, Stress & Anxiety, Sleep & Insomnia..."

- "Looking for pure CBD to help manage aches and pains? Can’t sleep at night because of stress or anxiety? Our 01 hemp oil is here to help. You’re looking to manage stress or anxiety, You’re seeking pain relief, You’re looking to manage inflammation, You’re experiencing loss of sleep related to anxiety or pain"

- "CBD can help promote relaxation, support relief from everyday pain and inflammation, manage everyday stressors and anxiety, and help support a healthy sleep cycle.You suffer from chronic pain, You’re looking to maintain general wellness, You want to promote a healthy inflammatory response"

- "Our organic 03 full spectrum CBD oil may help you to relax and ease discomfort, regardless of if it’s related to stress, surgery, illness, or any other cause. You’re looking to for a CBD product that can help with everyday pain and inflammation"

- "This organic CBD oil for dogs and pets is perfected to deliver a balanced therapeutic effect to your furry friends that may help them with pain & inflammation, joint health, stress and anxiety (think thunderstorms or being left home alone!), and sleep and appetite support among other benefits.Calming, Antioxidant Support, Bone and Joint Health, Healthy Cognitive Function"

BBB requested that Blue Forest Farms, LLC review its advertising and provide substantiation based on reliable, recent, competent testing for each of the health claims made and to discontinue any advertising that is in violation of FDA and FTC mandates for this industry.  

 

On September 7, 2022, Blue Forest Farms, LLC responded “Blue Forest Farms is committed to modify advertising by the end of the year”.  

 

Advertisements should be truthful, sincere offers to sell. Advertisers have a responsibility to have substantiation for all claims made and should be able to provide that substantiation upon request. All advertising that may mislead or deceive consumers should be avoided.  

 

Advertisers should ensure that testimonials and endorsements are not misleading and represent the current opinion of the endorser. A consumer endorser’s experience should reflect what users generally achieve, unless there is a clear and conspicuous disclosure of what the expected results will be.  Advertisers should not include claims in testimonials that they themselves cannot make and support.  

 

Claims relating to performance and results should be backed up by reliable evidence.  

 

Native Advertisements are created to resemble the design, style, and functionality of the media in which they are disseminated, which could make it difficult to distinguish between advertising and non-commercial content.
