On 8/29/2022 I went to this HCP for a skin check as well as removal of some seborrheic keratoses. I was told that my insurance would only pay for the removal of 4 of these keratoses....and that's what Dr. ***** removed. Some time after that I received a bill for $19.54....and the bill said that this amount pays for the removal of 1-14 lesions. I contacted the office and talked to ******....who explained to me that since every insurance was different that's just the number they will remove. I explained that didn't sound right to me....that the reimbursement amount that my insurance company provides pays for the removal of up to 14 lesions....that's how many should be removed for this price. She said she would talk to the office manager as well as Dr. *****. She called me back a week or so later and said their decision stands.....that if I wanted to come back in and have more removed "insurance might not cover it". I told her that sounded a bit ridiculous to me.....if he would have removed 14 lesions on 8/29/2022 insurance would have covered it....and I would have been happy to pay the co-insurance amount of $19.54. But since that's not what he did I would not be paying the balance they say I owe. I also said I would not be returning to this office....the way they deal with insurance doesn't seem right to me....and she said OK do you want records sent anywhere and I said no. As of today I am continuing to be billed for $19.54.
