I moved into a brand new modular home (buyer owns the lot) in August of 2019. The home had a 1 year warranty. There were several thing that needed to be addressed. One major item was the foundation felt it was not level. I addressed it within the year. The development sent their man out. He checked and said the modular is sitting flush on the standards. I have no doubt that is accurate. I believe they set the standards on the south side too low. I had granite counters put in and they said it was way off and had to do a great deal of shimming. When the developer was sent out there were cracks in the front of the house and by a window. They fixed both. A year later new cracks happened in the same spots plus two new spots. Plus the front and back door do not shut properly. I began to address the issue via email on January 28, 2023. It stated a request to bring in an independent foundation expert. That the issue was not properly addressed by the developer when the home was under warranty. Therefore, the problem was not fixed even though the concern was brought to their attention under the warranty. I called two more times and finally dropped off the fourth attempt to resolve the issue (see the attachment) to their main office. ***** the manager finally called and said they will not do anything since the warranty is gone. I explained this issue was brought up during the warranty and was not properly addressed. She refused. I only want an independent expert to inspect the foundation since new cracks arised and the doors are not shutting properly. If it is not a free inspection they pay for it and the repairs. If the expert says everything is within range then I will fix the cracks. This development has many ongoing issues with the developer. I just want my forever retirement home to be safe and secure.
