I signed up with *** after reading information about the course on the *** website as well as reading glaring positive ****** reviews on *** website. Turns out the real ****** reviews are different than what they show on their website. Some are 1 star. They made it appear to be easier than it is. I took the first two days of a 9 day course that consists of 9 hour days back to back. The instructor turned out to be very pompous, arrogant, and offensive in so many ways. Even worse, there is no clear cut agenda on where the course information is leading up to. The course is simply 9 hours a day of way too much information. The course experience is nothing like what i was led to believe it to be. I feel completely ripped off by this company.

      Good Morning,

We are in receipt of the complaint from *******************.  We are in shock at the slanderous email that he has submitted to you.  He submitted this on a Sunday evening after finishing the second day of a 9-day class.  We received an email from him that night at 9:52pm that the class did not work with his schedule.  We promptly responded to him on Monday morning when we opened at 9am.  He never once complained about the instructor or told us he was unhappy in any way, shape or form.  Our standard of practice is to allow students to move from class to class as necessary to accommodate their schedule and to hold payments if they are having a hardship.   He submitted this complaint in the middle of the night late on a Sunday evening and prior to our office hours Monday morning.

Please see the enclosed communication with **************** regarding his request to move his class dates.  These emails between our office and **************** are after he sent this complaint to your attention, and he never once mentioned that he was upset with anything at all.

      Hi ***!

Im sorry to hear that this class isnt working out with your schedule.  I do see that you emailed last evening after class, however, our office hours are not available on Sunday evenings.

Im happy to put you into any of our future classes to get your 64 hours completed.  ***** already completed 18 of the required hours so we can hold that for you until you complete and choose another session.

Would you like me to put the payments on hold until you decide which class?

Please let me know, thank you!

      Hi ***,

The requirement is that you complete any classes you miss, to cover the topics and the time requirements.  Please get ahold of registration to make sure you are registered for next month, so you can be sent the class link, and we can update our records.

      Thanks for letting me know.

      Hi *****,

I sent a message to the phone number you gave in class. Just letting you know i won't be in class tomorrow (Monday). I am not sure if that means i have to take all remaining 7 classes at a later date or just the 3rd class?

      *******************

As you can see from the email chain above, we had no idea that *** was upset about anything other than the class not working with his schedule.  Which we did offer to accommodate for him.  After receiving this message, we did go review the Zoom recordings of the class.  **************** was attempting to take this class OFF CAMERA of which the instructor had to ask him multiple times to come back on the camera.  Our policy, that every student must sign, states very clearly that students will not receive credit if they do not have their camera on.  This is an ATI requirement but ALSO a *********** requirement for obtaining credit hours towards becoming a home inspector.  In the event of an audit, they would take away his license as well as fine our company for not following attendance protocol.  In any event, **************** did not communicate any of this to our customer service team or our instructor as you can see in this email.  In fact, when our team attempted to call him multiple times that following Monday, he did not answer his phone but did answer via email, which led us to believe that everything was fine.

We would like to request that this complaint be removed.  It is clearly not consistent with the communication with the student, and we had no way of knowing anything was wrong or even given an attempt to fix or re-explain attendance policies, which **************** signed in his enrollment agreement. This complaint is slander, completely untruthful and egregious in nature.  There were ******************** this class with **************** and many of them gave the instructor 5-star reviews after class.  ******* of an instructor with 30 years' experience in this industry - without proof is completely unacceptable.  The email communication from the student himself should suffice to show that this was malicious towards the school and that perhaps the student just decided he did not want to become a home inspector.

      Sincerely,

      *********************

      Complaint: 21178668

I am rejecting this response because:

**** is lying. ***** did not call me out multiple times for not being on camera. My camera was always on. I was getting over a cold and had to move out of view occasionally to blow my nose or cough. I ask **** to PROVE what he is claiming because i know for a fact he is lying.

Also, the messages he has shown are indeed messages i had sent. But they were sent after multiple messages i sent complaining about the class. I have attached one of them. *** ignored my messages and acted as if thet were never sent. They would only respond to what they wanted to hear. Furthermore, they gave an option in the enrollment agreement to cancel if login details were not already sent. Well, they sent them at the same exact time i made the payment, which is pretty shady considering it was impossible to cancel. I should report them for fraud.

I would like **** to show his proof about the video and also show *****'s behavior that i found so offensive to myself and towards other students. He was very pompous throughout the class and the video would easily demonstrate that. I believe ATI is more concerned with getting their money than maintaining the right business ethics. I am NOT satisfied. Yes. I did tell them to stop my payments so it wouldn't mess up my bank account. After all, they were ignoring my complaints, and i have proof of them all. But i have not rescheduled as i do not plan to attend this offensive class. I advise ATI to do the right thing because if they do not, i will take further action and fully advocate with the public, and courts if necessary so people will know what they are actually signing up for.

      Sincerely,

      *******************

I would like to attach a message sent to me 02/12/2024 from ATI for the record. It was sent to me after i revoked payment authorization from them. And as you can see they are accusing me of slander and defamation. Yet, as previous messages from them show, they are guilty of accusing me of showing defamation and slander against them without any shred of proof. I am guilty of one thing. Showing up for class and regretting it. I am not afraid to *** them if it becomes necessary. My complaints against the company have been clear from the start. No slander. No defamation. Just based on my negative experiences with this company. The public has a right to know what they're buying into and i advise ATI to reconsider their accusations against me very carefully and to be more transparent about what they're selling versus what they're delivering. It isnt difficult to find unhappy customers right here on BBB and on other websites. I am not the only one that regrets giving this company money.

I signed up for ATIs home inspection course on 5/10/22 and started the online portion on 5/14/22 Before signing up I confirmed I could finish this program within 1 month - 2 month time frame which made me decide to go with them rather than a local home inspector course for half the money which would take 6 months. The online portion went very well and ************************* the instructor was very good. That was from 5/14/22-5/25/22 Done relatively quickly. Had a great experience. Then I was told Id would be able to start my infield training relatively quickly but I didnt start till 6/14/22 They assigned me to an instructor who does home inspection as a part time job. Which was a red flag for me. After being patient. I decided to start emailing them 9/12/22 if this is normal for 5 inspections to take this long. They told me they would try to contact my instructor. My instructor then finally got back to me 11/5/22 At this point I had to find another career path as it was taking to long. And just asked for a refund They were not responding to me. So I filed a chargeback. My banks denied me even though I gave them proof of the time stamps and getting a second option from another inspection course. They told me to resolve it with the company itself. I then finally was able to get in contact with ATI after contacting them numerous times. They told me they would give me a partial refund for the infield training on 1/5/23. They said they couldnt because of an issue with my bank. I called my bank and they send the funds have been cleared. Its now 9/17/23. After following up on my status of the refund. They told me to stop contacting them. Theyre accusing me of slander, harassment and threatened to send me a cease and desist letter. Im not sure what I did wrong to get those comments from the company. All Im asking for is a refund that they said they would honor. Attached are some dates of our conversations and the rudeness that was displayed.

I am the Director of Compliance here at ATI Home Inspector Training and I have been monitoring the situation with ********************** for almost an entire year.  ********************** decided he wanted his money back AFTER he was completed with the course and AFTER he called our competitors who told him to cancel our course and they'd give him a better price. We have been communicating with ********************** regarding this since December of last year, and his communication has been to threaten, harass and intimidate our staff.  After he lost his dispute with his credit card company, he has left many vulgar messages, harassing and threatening our staff (including myself) regarding this; including but not limited to racist name calling and telling our staff to jump off of buildings to kill themselves and rid themselves of their stupidity.  We also have very disparaging emails from him that I have attached to this email.

Attached is a timeline of events:

1 - After ********************** was completed with his course, he called our support line to say he wanted us to match a competitor's price.  We informed him that we do not price match but also, he was already 99% completed with the course.  He swore at the staff and hung up. He continued to call us an additional 52 times that same day with threats, name calling and again, racial slurs.
2 - He then disputed the charges on his credit card for his classroom and field training and lost with his own credit card company that ruled in our favor.
3 - He completed all of his training, with the exception of one field event which he has refused the opportunity to complete multiple times.
4 - He communicated via email with us that he had contacted ICA School who offered him a 50% price discount, and they told him to dispute the charges with us, file complaints specifically with the BBB - gave him this specific link and then enroll with them. (this seems to be a pattern with this particular company). Even though he was 99% completed with his training with us.
In between the timeline above, ********************** has contacted us hundreds of times, via phone, email and chat.  At one point his racial slurs made one of our support girls cry and need to take a leave of absence because of how degrading he was acting.

We truly wish that we could help **********************, but he completed almost the entire course and has refused to communicate in a civilized manner.  We have run out of options to be able to help him and truly wish him the best of luck in any endeavor he wishes to pursue.

JULY 2023 I've paid for a product and have attempted to reach out for help and excuses is all I get. I failed a test and asked for help and they emailed me a cop[y and told me to learn from it. Middle of July I reached out and no one would answer my call. My wife called and they answered. They informed her they would review my stuff and contact me. They never did. So I've attempted Chat, Emails, And phone calls and no one will answer or return. On July 28th My wife finally reached a woman named ****. She stated she would call at two thirty and review my things and answer any questions I had. At three forty five she called and I showed some frustration that I had people at the home working on it and I planned this around her telling me two thirty. At that point a unnamed female stating she was the manager got on the phone and began yelling at me. She told me to be a grown man and I should be calling myself and not have my wife call for me. As or when I attempted to tell her That no one will answer the phone when I call she told me to F*** off and hung up on me. I've emailed the owner ***** with no reply. I left a message with a ***** with no reply. I left a message on their chat line with no reply. I truly just want a refund at this time. I have wasted two months of my life with this school and have gotten no where.

Purchased online training from ATI Home Inspector Training, and when I started it I found that it was only a collection of PowerPoint slides and freely available ******* videos. Contacted the support and received an email that there would be lecture material before the exam prep portion, but got to the first exams and there were no lectures, and the exams covered material that was not in the PowerPoint presentations. The contract specified I had 3 days to get a refund, so I requested a refund by email at 2 days and have not yet heard back. I have tried calling but nobody answers their phone.

I paid $1,700.00 on June 16, 2022 for a home inspection course. I completed the classroom part of the course on July 16, 2022. The company is responsible for assigning a field trainer to me as part of the course to ensure I complete three in person field inspections. After several emails and phone calls, a field trainer was assigned. I have emailed the field trainer several times without success and I have left several messages on his personal cell number provided to me by the company. My emails and phone calls go unanswered. I cannot receive my completion certificate and schedule to take the state exam until this class is completed. I am asking BBB to file a complaint on this company and make them complete their end of the agreement paid for.
