Clinic provided annual physical which was excellent, during exam they noticed wax in my ears asked if I wanted it removed. Yes they removed it, but charged me for a separate office visit and for the wax removal. They claim ******** doesnt pay for the wax removal, thats fine but charging me for an office visit is unacceptable!!!Business response

You were charged for three items. First, an annual wellness visit. Second, an ****** visit charge. Third, the cleaning of your ear. The annual wellness visit covers the "paperwork" aspect of the visit. The ****** visit covers the physical exam and any health care related issues like high blood pressure or high cholesterol. I am not implying you had these, just using them as an example. The ear cleaning charge covers the effort and supplies it takes to clean out the ear.
I liked to point out the attached document to help explain our situation. In summary, it shows that ********** annual wellness visit doesn't cover a physical exam. When you spoke with our billing department, you suggested that it should all fall under the physical charge. If you read the document attached, this simply isn't true. ******** doesn't cover this unless an ****** visit charge is included. Please ****** it if you don't believe me. I could make the argument that your issue should be with the legislatures who made these rules up and not the doctor's ****** who is following them. Other ******s would have stopped at the physical exam part and made you come in another day, charged you the ****** visit to discuss your health issues and do an exam. Then, made you come back again for the ear cleaning and charged for that. We elected to do all 3 visits at the same time. It is also why we scheduled you for an hour instead of the routine 20 minutes other practices will do.
I can promise you we aren't trying something scammy or milking it for all it's worth. If that were the case, there are at least 4-6 other legit charges we could have added to that day's visit that I purposely don't do that other ******s do in order to improve their bottom dollar. It is why 100% of our supplement's profits go to charity. It is why I sponsor a mission trip for 2 of my staff members every year. It is why I haven't sold out to big business and routinely discount ****** visits for those without insurance. I want you to see my heart in this.
