I was using the website ********.hibid to bid on some items being sold on an online auction. The seller was Steel city auctions, the the web site was ********.hibid. I successfully won the item I was interested in. As an afterthought, I decided to bid on other items since I was already going to go pick-up the first item. I successfully won four items in total. The first was a gold filled vial, the others were a book and two necklaces. At the conclusion of the auction, I reviewed what was owed and the website clearly showed all four items as being won by me and payment due on all four items. I called the seller, ************, to ask if I could pick-up my items and was told yes. When I arrived at ****************************************************************************, The man there said the original item I had wanted didn't pass the reserve price. He gave me the other three items. I was unhappy about this and pointed out to the man that all four items on the website were clearly posted as being won by me and nothing on the site specifically called out or referred or alluded to a reserve price on the gold filled vial. Even though I could show these things on my phone the man said it was not true and he could prove otherwise. I asked to see this proof and he said he would do this some other time. I told the man I was not happy and would be seeking some kind of redress. I then asked what was owed for the three remaining items and after going inside and checking, he said nothing was owed because I had been billed by credit card automatically.. I really only wanted the gold filled vial. The whole trip and time wasted was based on me getting the vial. I would not have bid on the other items alone. They were not even worth the trip.Business response

The vial of gold that the complaintant is refering to was lot number 24 in the auction. It did have a reserve of $40.00 and the complaintants bid was $8.00 so this lot did not meet the reserve price and was not added to his invoice. I explained to ******************* that that there was a reserve and that I could provide him with copies from my auction site to prove there was a reserve. I had other customers to help and explained that I couldnt provide that informationthis very minute and have other customers waiting while I did that. He became beligerent and thretening. He stormed off anad I told him I would be glad to help him, just not this very minute. Later I tried contacting him by email but he was unresponsive. Ill am happy to provide you with the documentation showing there was a reserve on lot 24. See provided documentation and I would be happy to assist with any other questions or concerns. Additionally there were no other complaints from bidders on any other auction lots that had a reserve.
