Received an invoice from this business for work performed during the month of July 2021. Received an invoice on 28 January 2022 for the work performed six months earlier. On the invoice it stated the work was performed on 30 December 2021 which is not true. It also states that after 30 days they will charge 3% interest (like the invoice I just received) on the balance monthly. I was not provided the following: a copy of the original invoice, provided the prices they charge hourly or for parts, did not provide me the replaced parts for inspection, charged me excessive labor charges, and on their invoice, I did receive, it states that if not paid within 90 days it would be turned over to collections and charged an additional $300. I have the envelope showing date this invoice was sent to me which is post marked 26 January of 2022. (They charged me 1 hour labor to replace the water pump (normal time to replace is approximately 15 minutes) and 3.5 hours total to replace the motor which after researching the normal time to replace it would be 1 hour. A total of 4.5 hours charged when in fact it should have not been more than 2 hours labor. Now, I find that EMC is no longer in business and I have tried sending a text message to the number provided with no response. I refuse to pay late charges as I finally got a bill 1/28/22 even though they put erroneous dates on it. Even on the invoice they show replacing the motor 2 times on the same date of 07/13/2021 totaling 3.5 hours. The invoice number is 1137 dated 30 December 2021. I offered to pay them for the parts and two hours labor but they have not contacted me as of this date. (30 January 2022) I did quote an inaccurate number of $447.00 which should have been $464.26 I was willing to pay. I was also advised that the business was purchased(?) by the name the guy on the invoice doing the work. (Name of JAMES) I was also told that the individual moved to ****** **** then ***** ******** **. (Not verified)Business response

Good morning,
This is in regards to the complain against EMC Plumbing & Heating, INC. First let me just say we are in business and have NOT sold out or gone out of business. Our business has different locations, as this is not abnormal.
James was our employee who did the job for ******* *******. ******* claims he tried to contact us, we have not received any text messages from him. Not sure what number he is using. We have had the same numbers for years.
The 30 days interest is on every invoice as stated to do so by an attorney, since most people choose not to pay their bills anymore, which is exactly what this is, another customer not able to pay their bills and this is the easy way out.
The statement of ******* was not provided the cost per hour, did he ask what we charge and how we bill? If ******* wanted an upfront cost he should have asked for an estimate. Most companies have a minimum charge of an hour, to not waste the technicians time. This is in regards to ******* believing it takes 15 minutes to do a good job. Like other customers, if ******* thinks he knows how much parts are and how long it takes to do a job, he should have done the job himself.
As stated before we have not heard from *******, and if he is calling/testing James, who did the job, he moved a few months ago, and is not employed by us.
The invoice was corrected for an hour that was mistakenly entered twice. The invoice is $606.76. We bill off of what the employee turns in on their job tickets. If ******* was so concerned on the job done he should have contacted us in July asking for the invoice then.
This one person will not change the way we do business and if the BBB goes off non paying customer complaint for our rating, it is what it is.
Thank you and feel free to contact us by email or call 970-********. Look forward to hearing from you.

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business, and find that this resolution is acceptable to me with the following comments.
I heard more than just one complaint about this company regarding opinions of its customers after the fact. I am terribly disappointed that the business has such low opinions to customers. I pay my bills as necessary. My credit reports reflects that comment. I requested more than once from the technician the costs and he refused to quote me any. I therefore will make sure any one asking about this company about the poor service and what I feel is the under handed way of doing business. My discussion with the technician should have warned me about the lack of knowledge the individual had. If I was physically capable of performing the work I would have and could have saved me Over $300. I am aware of the costs of the parts and what I was proved was marginal at best. I was not given the old parts which is customary in any business. I will absolutely not recommending this business even to my enemies.
Have the business send me a new bill and I will get a cashiers check to pay the low end recommended and require them to send me a receipt in return within 30 days.If this is not satisfactory to the busniness tell them I'll gladly see them in court with witnesses.
Regards

Please see attached the revised invoice as previously stated, The invoice was revised and is what is due. Again the homeowner has not stated what number he was calling or texting. So if it was James, who has not worked for us for months, for several reasons, I can't not help you. You all can have your own thoughts about how you think a company should be ran. AGAIN, if you wanted a quote you should have called the OWNER of the company and got an upfront cost and asked for the failed parts. I was not there at the job so if you had a problem with the employee you should have contacted me at the time of the service. Rumors fly in a small town like ******* so if you chose to believe and spread more fault accusations this is your choice.Customer response

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I am sending this payment to the address listed on the invoice. If they do not receive it it's not my fault. The payment should be sent NLT 3/28/2022 by registered mail. Due to the loocation of my funds it will be a personal check which should clear upon receipt. I expect a receipt for such payment at that time.
Regards,
