I was sold a vehicle by this organization with the claim that it was in top condition. It was priced $1300+ higher ($6800) than *** value ($5500) for such. I was able to negotiate for the seller to take $800 off the vehicle. After purchase, upon driving it back to my campus (only 40 minutes away), the vehicle started smoking, and it was discovered that I had a cracked radiator and a small oil leak - issues that an honest seller would have noticed and repaired or adjusted the value for/been upfront about. Upon alerting the seller, he said he MIGHT be able to talk to his boss about covering labor for the repairs if we purchased the parts, but there was no trust on our part for that. We paid just over $1k for the radiator and were going to do the oil leak as soon as possible. Upon driving it another hour or so after picking it up, the check engine light came on and it's discovered that the 02 sensors are faulty, which could - if they haven't already - lead to a damaged engine. This is completely unacceptable, regardless of CO lacking a lemon law and/or the contract specifying the sale of the vehicle as is, we paid for a vehicle in top condition. After getting the O2 sensor repaired ($330), about a week later the check engine light is now on again. We are looking for the dealership to either reimburse at least the labor costs if not the total costs of the repairs for all issues, or allow us to return the vehicle at a refund of the entire price of the car. Attached are the sales contract and first repair bill, I can provide additional repair bills if needed.

I purchased a vehicle from Rifle Auto Sales back on April 15th, 2022. I purchase the car for 9,500. After financing it came out to 13,108. The car salesman noted that the vehicle was in good conditions, but it was salvage. I asked if the car had a warranty or if I could buy a warranty. The car salesman replied that the vehicle didn't have a car warranty and one could not be purchased because of the year of the car. Shortly after purchase, the vehicle started stalling while driving, it also started making noises- knocking coming from the engine. The speedometer wasn't working correctly either. When I would accelerate the numbers would jump around. I also noticed the revolution took longer to shift. I took the vehicle to a mechanic, they suspected they could be low in oil, and it could need spark plugs. the Oil levels were fine, but the spark plugs were full of oil. He mentioned a reason for finding oil on the spark plugs could be that something was cracked in engine. The next on June 19th, 2022, while driving it, all the warning lights turned on, the car began to smoke, and it lost power. We towed the car back home and the following day another machine came to see the car. He took the vehicle to the shop and inspected it thoroughly. Here is what the mechanic said about the car. "...Check oil pressure and found oil pressure to be at 34psi (spec is 12-20 at idle) excessive pressure at idle. Check oil level and found oil was dirty, drain oil for a test of the oil quality. When drain plug was removed, piston pieces were found in the pan along with a piece of the piston ring. See attached photos for metal debris gathered from draining some of the oil. With the metal debris found, vehicle will need a new engine." Will attach mechanic invoice below. Included is a description of the problem and photos of the debris found. I am requesting three different possible solutions.
