Hired Mike M*******, Ten Mile Tradesmen LLC, as a general contractor to remodel a property in Frisco Colorado. He hired unlicensed contractors and failed to pass the framing inspection. He was asked to cure the deficiencies listed on the inspection report but instead chose to abandon the job site and stopped communicating. He was paid in full for his quoted labor, his subcontractor's work and material. He failed to pay all subcontractors and purchase said material. I requested copies of receipts along with updated accounting at the time he failed inspection to determine refund owed. He refused to provide the information and stated that he knew he 'owed me money back' and 'promised to pay back soon'. In June of 2021, he claimed to have spent all his funds to hire a lawyer to determine how much money he owed me. He then stated that the lawyer determined that none was owed but he is refusing to provide name of lawyer, accounting details or receipts for material he claimed he bought.

      Hello Clay,

****** ****** is lying in her written statement.  First of all I never walked off the job.  In fact this was right at the beginning of the Covid pandemic.  I was working on her condo. She stopped communicating with me for approx 3 - 4 weeks.  While I was still working she would not return e mails or phone calls. I continued in good faith to work on her condo.  When we got back in touch.  She called the building inspector to checkout the progress.  At that time I had passed all inspections.  We then went back to work.

****** is cannot make up her mind about things and she continually stalled my progress by not selecting trades that I suggested.  I could not move forward without her decisions.  As she changed her mind things got more expensive and the price changed for my labor continuously.  ****** has record of this because every time she paid me I updated a spreadsheet. reflecting her payment and additional charges in red for my additional labor.  Keep in mind I was giving her a lower rate because we were friends.  All sub contractors were paid by ****** and I did not upcharge for my coordination as most contractors do.  The only sub contractors I paid were my carpenters.  As far as heiring non licencend contractors.  We were both fooled by a long time local plumber that was not licenced.  ****** actuall had final say on all subs and she approved him.  We fired him when we found out he was not licencen.  We resolved the situation by heiring a new plumber who passed all inspection.   ****** and I both agreed not to pursue the plumber without a licence because we solved the situation together.

When ****** Fired me is was right after I sent her information about a welder we were selecting for her railing.  I had the current permit information with me because she asked me to extend the permit.  Things were stalled out from Covid.  I was literly on my way to the town of Silverthorne to extend the permit.  Her Husband  then called me and Stated He will do anything nesscesary to get me.  I had never spoken to him before about this project.  I was scared at this point,  He is a multi millionaire ex Marine.  With a lot of power.   I have been a carpenter for 35 years and have worked all over the country and this is the first time I have been threated.  and I did nothing wrong.  All I was doing is dilligently working on her place.  All of a sudden they fired me and threatened me.

After I was fired, ****** still had a many of my tools in her condo.  She let me come and pick some of them up. I could not pick up a scaffolding at the time.  She had posted notes on the door that stated I was no longer allowed on the premises.  She pretty much made it impossible to pick up the scaffolding after that point because I was not allowed on the premises.  Also her  husband was acting very agressive towards me.  I wanted no part of this.

****** then started attacking my wife on line.  Like a cyber bully.  ***** had nothing to do with with this and she spread lies about her on the internet.  ***** is a good person and was once ******** friend also.  She did not deserve this.

After she fired me ****** made demands on me of what I need to do for her. I signed over the permit, which ****** requested.  She then stated I need to provide her with a bunch of information about my business. I said no.  I do not work for you any longer.  I do not owe you any information.  I paid her $1500.00 towards the $2500.00  I thought I owed her for some tile she purchased.   When she decided to not return my scaffolding I took 1000.00 off what I think owed.  So as far as I am concerned.  I owe her nothing.  I am on to the next adventure.  In retrospect I think she owes me for breach of contract.

A couple things to note.  All I did is make improvements on her property.  She constantly wanted me to build an illegal room for her in her loft with no egress.   I  let her know this but she insisted.  She fire me because things were getting expensive and I would not conceal the illegal room with no egress from the building inspector.

So Clay,  There is your explanation.  I will have you know my business has been very successful and I am excited about the future.

Hey I would like to register a complaint about the Federal Government.  I have been working since I have been 12 years old.  I have a family and I have created a successful business which now has 8 full time employees.  My family never received a stimulus check. We were also never granted a no pay back loan for paycheck protection.  I know a bunch of scammers who received money.  I put in a legitimate claim and was turned down.  Give those guys a call for me I want an explanation.

      Kindest Regards,

      Mike M*******

      Customer response

      Complaint: ********

Thank you for forwarding the response your received from the business owner regarding my complaint.
I do not accept the response made by the business as it is not addressing my complaint.

      My complaint is as follows:
      - The business owner charged me in full for a project he didn't complete.
      - The business owner charged me for material that cannot be located in the property.

I asked the business owner to provide receipts for material purchased and expenses charged to me as well as full accounting of labor cost since he only issued a refund of $500.00 but failed to provide any justification.

The response he provided does not address my complaint. The business owner is still refusing to provide receipts for material purchased as well as a final account statement needed that would justify the single small refund he issued so far ($500).

This business owner is purposely withholding information to make it more difficult to determine the actual refund owed to me for work not completed and material not purchased. His response brings up points that have nothing to do with this complaint but that will be conclusively disproved, should this case be brought up in court in the future.

      Regards,

      ****** ******
