We hired ***** to build new front and back decks for our house in April and him and his crew did not complete their job. They did not install the correct trex on the stairs and did not s**** the stairs down because they claimed they ran out of screws. We paid him in full before the job was complete unfortunately because we trusted his word that he would come back to finish once he had the money to go buy the rest of the trex and screws. He said he was having a difficult time in his personal life so we gave him ***** and time. We even gave him an extra $1000 because he said he under quoted us for the job in the beginning and he couldnt afford to buy the rest of the trex and screws to complete the job. Making us look like fools he has never shown up to complete the job. We have tried continuously to contact him and when he does respond and say he will come to fix and complete the job he never shows. This has happened over 15 times this past 2.5 months and it is incredibly stressful and frustrating. He left a bunch of trash in our yard also.Yes it is our fault for paying him in full in cash before the job was complete. We knew ***** as an acquaintance for many years before we hired him to do this job so we thought he would be honorable and trustworthy to do what he said he would. Hard ****** learned for my husband and I. Do not hire Midwest Roots Construction-they do a shotty job and likely wont fix what is wrong or complete what should be. There are also many nicks and damage done to the wood and trex they used on the decks and when I confronted him about the bad work he did not offer to it. The concrete pouring at the base of the stairs has marks in it and is messy as well. It was a battle of text and phone communication to no avail. Now we have to hire another deck contractor to replace the trex on the stairs and put screws in. Very disappointed with his work and hope this review saves someone else from having to deal with his lies and negligence.
