I would not recommend Jim Needham services. My second experience with them was worse than unsatisfactory. I am still waiting for an investigation by the company after the technician red tagged my furnace and told me I needed either a new heat exchanger ($4300) or a new furnace(9,000 +). Also told me my carbon monoxide numbers were too high. Since my furnace was not yet 5 years old, I had two more companies do a furnace check. They didnt find any problems.

Plumber did great work in a timely and efficient manner. I intended to leave a 5 star review, but then discovered problems. The guy left a large tarp in our yard and it posed a problem for both my wife and I, both of whom are mobility impaired. Worse, our mobile home has wood panel skirting. There are access panels to get into the crawl space for repairs. I told him repeatedly that I did not want access panels left open. The last thing we want is for some animals to get under the home. Yet, hours after the technician left, I found an access panel left wide open and had to put it back myself. Three calls to complain has yet to rectify my complaint. In fact, by the 3rd call, I was becoming angry that the tarp was still here. While on that third call, the call center manager came on the line to accuse me of being rude. I was not rude and limited my remarks to the lack of professionalism from the plumbing technician and the liability potential of that tarp potential for causing an accident. My five star review has devolved down to a 2 star. By the way, talk about rude behavior, is it not rude for a contractor to leave a jobsite without clearing their junk and leaving the area better than they found it? If anyone was disrespected, it was me, the customer. Three calls to resolve a complaint is, by definition, disrespectful!

Prevarication to the hilt! Literally trying to capitalize on senior citizen with tactics that scare them. Shame on this technician trying to make a commission at the home owners expense! Jim Needhams company should probably vet their people more thoroughly!! Would NOT RECOMMEND this company to anyone.

We purchased a Mr ****** gas infrared garage heater. After hooking it up it didn't run. We called a company out and after 3 trip tries we gave up on that company and contacted Jim Needham. The tech worked with the heater until he had it up and running. The fees were reasonable and Mr ****** said they would pay me back the fees since the heater was brand new and never used. It feels so wonderful to have the heater working. We should have called Jim Needham for the first call and that would have saved me 4.5 hours and 3 other house calls.

We had them come out for a "free" furnace inspection. After they looked at the furnace (which was functioning well prior to their assessment), they told us it needed repairs close to $10K. When we told them that we weren't interested in that, he told us that the heating element was cracked and that he had to shut our furnace off. This was 5:15 pm on a Friday on the weekend of a severe storm warning. He showed us the element, and it looked fine to us. There is a carbon monoxide detector in the furnace room which is not signaling a high level. He also told us that the customers he had seen just prior to us were upset that he had turned their furnace off too. Is this really so common that you would have two customers in a row get their furnace turned off? We had the furnace looked at that Monday by a different company. No problems at all!! Fortunately, my son was able to reconnect the furnace so that we didn't have to get a hotel over a snowy weekend. Beware of this company.

Very disappointed in Jim Needham plumbing and heating company!! Called to schedule the $49 furnace check up and cleaning from the radio ad , Rose the person scheduling the appointment told me they vacuum and clean the furnace and replace the filter. I scheduled the appointment and today when the tech came he said they don’t clean anything just inspect the furnace. I called and Rose said she would see what would be included in the special as she didn’t know. After checking she apologized for the confusion and offered the cleaning for free if I paid the $49 fee, I agreed, then she said hang on, put me on hold, came by and said you can have the inspection for free and ask the technician how much the cleaning would be.. I asked the technician and he said between $200-$800 !!! Seriously what a complete scam!!! Don’t use this company!!!

I was very disappointed by Jim Needham Plumbing services and was told by two other reputable plumbers that I was being taken advantage of. I have never written a bad review before and I reached out to Jim Needham two separate times to respond to the below concerns over the course of 50 days. They chose to ignore their customer and never responded. So, I am pasting my exact email that was sent to them below for transparency to others that need a trusted plumber:"Thank you again for responding to my service request. I was told by your technician that this would be an extensive job, costing me over $1,000 to fix a small pinhole leak in a brand new line that was professionally installed ~ 18 months ago. Another reputable plumbing company was able to come verify this within hours and wrote the following to me:"It is completely up to you, but I would recommend putting Jim Needham on your do-not-call list and take them out of consideration for the *** and other homeowners. There are 3 different ways to fix the root cause of the issue without any drywall or collateral damage. This job itself ended up taking less than 30 minutes and is completely fixed now."The job ended up costing me less than $100. Just to ensure the above statement was not a fabrication, I asked another reputable plumber to compare the assessed issue and recommended fix between your company and the one that ended up doing the work. He confirmed that there were 3 ways to fix the job without cutting into drywall and also believed your recommended fix and quote to be very far from the minimum work needed to fix the root cause. He felt that you were gouging me."

The water heater in our home is 8yrs old and weve had zero problems with it. We noticed a drip from the water heater coming down a pvc pipe into the floor drain from the water heater. The plumber told us it was normal and it was designed to do just that. He said it was an OPTION for us to replace the thermal expansion valve with a thermal expansion tank in order to stop the drip, but not necessary because the water heater was fully functional. We told him we will be selling the house and if its just an OPTION to replace the thermal lever with a thermal tank, and nothing needs repairing we chose to keep things the way they were. Before he left, it was confirmed he was going to state in his invoice exactly what he had discussed with us. No charge for the visit. The problem: The invoice states the plumber gave us an estimate to REPAIR and REPLACE the thermal expansion valve with a thermal expansion tank. And since we were moving we were not interested in making repairs. The plumber was a disservice to us and to his company. The Silver Lining: The **** ******************** was excellent. He thoroughly checked out the furnace and found only a loose clamp, and claimed it was fully-functioning.
