            I had a leaky frost free water hydrant. I called Spartan Plumbing on 9/2/2021 to see is they repaired/replaced these. They were able to come out that day for a free estimate. Since it is old, I was not optimistic it could be taken apart and repaired w/o breaking the pipe. They argreed and after researching since they hadn't done these before gave me a bid the replace the entire hydrant which required excavating the old pi;e for $1200. . They came out on 9/13 and were able to remove the head, replace the lower fitting and put a new head on the pipe. It took them about 30 minutes. I priced the parts on line and they were less than $100. I about choked when they insisted on the full $1200 less 7% senior discount. Called office on 9/13 and manager ******** called back the next day. Would not adjust the price; said he'd discuss with owner and call following week. No call. I called today and he will not return my call. $1200 for $100 parts and 30 minutes labor is excessive.

            Very impressed. ***** is Spartans master plumber. Did shower replace. & 40 gal. ******* htr. replace. for us. Both jobs were done professionally, great perseverance, work ethic, reasonably priced. ******* assisted on ******* htr. Im vet as is *****. My Dad was journeyman ********* so fairly good fair judge of construct. craftsmanship.
