Signed a contract back in May 31, 2022 with an estimated start date of June 29, 2022. Made a deposit of $12,000 with the remaining balance of 40% due upon completion of the job for total amount of $19,048. I followed up on the estimate a start date and he indicated he was waiting for the permit to get approved and asked if we could move it to the second week of July. I followed up numerous times thereafter in regards to my project and did not receive any responses back. When I did finally receive communication from TBL there was always an excuse in regards to i.e. the permit, the design, delayed start, a death in the family, etc when I threatened a lawsuit he indicated that he was out of town and that he would give me a check by Thursday of that week. I followed up on Thursday to see where the refund was and did not respond. I followed up again a few days later and again did not respond. I had my husband call and also follow up did not answer and did not respond.Business response

Sorry for the short email but also her husband never call me and if he did I dnt have any voicemail saying he was her husband. I'm in the process of putting together all the money due to some material got purchased and waiting of the total of the refunds also we follow a process to refound that is been established on the contract the ********** signedCustomer response

I am rejecting this response because:He will not respond to me and the contract indicates he will keep communication. He has been delayed on this project for two months. Therefore, the contract is null in void and the return of the $12,000 is demanded.

Retiring this complaint as my precious claim was ignored. The contractor has yet to return my money!

June 1, 2022 - I signed a contract with TBL landscapers for 2 projects to lay artificial turf and paid a deposit of $10,560. To date, more than 2 months later, nothing has been done. I have called and emailed numerous times. Mostly I get no response but several times they have promised to come "tomorrow" and never show. Throughout this time I have been given numerous excuses but at this point I can't believe anything they say and want my deposit back. I also see that even though they had good reviews online a few years ago, lately many people are having similar difficulties with this company.Business response

Deposited $1620 for invoice *****. Total work value was $2,700. Work was for four garden bed reinforcements to start on 5/16/2022. I took off work that day to be home and TBL never showed up or returned text and voicemail messages. 5/17/2022, TBL replied via text message that wife was in labor and would need to reschedule work. We agreed to cancel the job and return the full deposit as TBL would not be able to perform the work. 5/31/2022, I asked TBL where the deposit money was and they stated it would be in the mail. 6/8, I asked TBL where the deposit money was and on 6/10/2022, they replied that it would be dropped off in the mailbox on 6/14/2022. On 6/15/2022, I asked TBL where the deposit money was and TBL did not respond to phone calls or text messages until 6/27/2022. TBL stated they will provide cash at the end of the week (7/1/2022). On 7/1/2022, I asked TBL where the deposit money was. TBL did not respond to phone calls or text messages until 7/5/2022 and TBL stated they would personally deliver on 7/6/2022. TBL did not respond to my phone calls or text messages on 7/6/2022 and they have not returned the deposit.Initial Complaint

A contract for landscaping was signed and set to start April 18. Because I opted to try for xeriscaping approval through my HOA, they offered to delay the start date. It was changed to May 18. On this day, no one showed up and no one responded to my messages. Later this day I discovered that there had been an accident and their truck was totaled. This again delayed the start date. After this, any time a date for something was given, no one showed up. I text and/or email almost daily and my inquiries are ignored. They have over $3000 of my money and it is too late to hire another company. I do not know what else to do. I just want the work done and done well and correctly. They will not answer respond and I am running out of options. I need the work completed. I do have our signed contract, which they are in breach of, if necessary.Business response

A contract for landscaping was signed and set to start April 18. Because I opted to try for xeriscaping approval through my HOA, they offered to delay the start date. It was changed to May 18. On this day, no one showed up and no one responded to my messages. After this, each and EVERY time a date for something was given, no one showed up. I had to fire the company on August 26, 2022 and hire a new one. TBL continually promises to return my deposit money, but it never happens. I text almost daily. They have $3580 of my money. They are in breach of contract and legally owe me my deposit. According to other reviews online, this has been a common occurrence with this company. I do not believe anything they say as they have misled several other customers. Nothing gets resolved regardless of what they promise.
