I hired BC Tax on August 9th to get me out of a ******** with the *** I was in a payment installment paying $555.00 a month I am a Tax Preparer so I know that you have to be in complaince to be able to keep your EFIN. So they agree d that they could get me in a rogram called uncollectible since my funds were limited and Social Secrity is my only soure of income when tax season is not in. But what they didn't advise e of is that the *** will take out a Federal Lien against you and your property. They only made me adware of this after they had already filed all the paperwork. You really think tha I would want a federal lien against me a person with good credit and a tax preparer I would have found a way to make the payment with tax season just around the corner the $2700 I paid them could have paid the months until tax season cvame . They withheld that information putting ber in a worser postion than I was in before I hired them I had a Tax adovate working an penalty abatement for me and because they put me in this position they had to take a step back until this appeal for this lien s over and I have to start that **************** again. This was a total rip-off had they being honest right off and told me that the *** has to put a lien I would have told them no and they knew this, they sent me over a form to sign to get a refund but only if I don't leave a negative review abot them it was to late for that because I had alkready done that and I am still going to let people know that they are not up front about what is going to take place after they do something for you or what position it will leave you in. I have attached that information to me that is like you are blackmailing someone don't leave a bad review and you can have you mone, although I didn't do a good job. "Really" ************ need to be stopped I am taking this form to the trades commission or wherever I can take it because it is truely blackmail. You done a poor job and put me in a bad position.

To Whom It May ********************** allow this to serve as our response to the clients claims/statements as written in the complaint dated December 5th, 2023:

BC Tax was successful in rendering the services she contracted our office for.

Upon our review of the clients financial and supporting documentation we determined that the client qualified for a hardship request for Currently Not Collectible.  ****************** had previously arranged an unaffordable payment plan, she sought our assistance for negotiations of a hardship agreement. ****************** had several exchanges both via telephone and email exchange with our staff during the course of the resolution negotiations, which were in fact successful. (See Exhibit A-approval of resolution and Exhibit B-communications with client).  The client was presented with all details of their case, and also continued communications herself directly with a Taxpayer Advocate representative she sought assistance with prior to engaging with BC Tax.

BC Tax further continued efforts to assist ******************, per her request and need to extended services due to her non-compliance with both individual and business income taxes.  BC Tax extended additional time and services required due to the complexity of her case, as requested by ******************.

The client further expressed concerns of a tax lien, for which the assigned Resolution Associate and our Management staff discussed with ****************** during emails and conferences on September 20th. Documentation enclosed.

While we understand ****************** decided she would like to change her course of resolution actions with the **** she originally reached out for services to engage a hardship resolution and admittedly was not able to afford her IRS Installment Agreement.  Our firm was again successful in the resolution to assist her with the approval of the hardship status, for which ****************** was notified via email and phone conversation on October 6th.

Please feel free to reach out to our office with any remaining questions or should any additional information be needed.

I was told I would be issued a refund but only if I kept my mouth shut about thier company I have been going back and forth with my credit card company to get my refund it has been pure h*** these people tried to over bill me and everything I just want this matter done with and them out of my life. Just give me back my refund and I am done they I have provided all the proof for everything they have said and done

      Business response

      02/12/2024

The client requested a full refund and I contacted her to let her know that the full refund was approved and she was very happy with that outcome.  Unfortunately, I received a scathing email the next morning calling us every negative thing in the book and she filed this complaint.  There will be no refund.

      Customer response

      02/13/2024

I wrote the negative statement on this company the same day the refund was offer I didnot write anything but the true I didn't call them anything but I stated that they withheld information from me and let the public know that I wouldn't use this company due to this fact. I stated that the were a scam due to the fact after a lien was filed against me someone called me to get hired to get the lien removed , even though they were already hired and it was because of their actions the lien was there in the first place. This is why they offered the refund then to go back and state they will not issue it because I came to you to file a complaint and because I went to the internet to tell about my experience you won't honor your offer of the refund that only let the public know that I am stating true facts because you offered the refund but told me I was not to tell of my experience with the company. Why wouldn't I share this if the refund was given then I would have a different experience you would have corrected the issue, due to the fact you offered it in the first place you were aware that I had a issue with your services rectify this issue so that things are made right. You know you withheld information I am a tax professional there is no way I would have wanted a lien placed on me  no matter what I was going through as youi guys know that I paid for a service a truthful service no to be taken advantage of, you just should have been truthful from the start not withhold information that is no way to conduct a business if you want it last, God frowns on the wicked all I posted was you was a scam because you took advantage of a situation I was going through to gain a profit, and for that I deserve my refund if I didn't you wouldn't have never offered it, I am now trying to find out how to get a small claim court to settle this matter if it can't be settle here.

I am rejecting this response because: I typed my response ealier and repled like I stated the offer was made about my refund so the company acknowledge the fact that the service they ******** was unsatisfactory and this is why they offered the refund in the first place. So to withdraw the offer because I came to you or because I stated how their service was to me which is my opinion was a scam because who does this when you offer to help someone then return around and do the opposite and cause them more damage then it was at first. I am trying not to go to small claim court but that is my next step filing paperwork in the ***************** this is unbeliveable A company that vows to help and is trying it;s best not to issue a refund on the streght that I not tell the truth I only vow to tell my truth that is why I don't understand you as a company not holding up to your end of your word. Then to state I post all kind of bad names about you on the internet where I only told what happened to me and what type of company you were that you withheld information and tried to overcharge me in which you did ask ***** she knows.

      Sincerely,

      *****************************

There was an original date set of May 27th for the IRS agent to receive all tax documentation. This icluded bank statements, Stock account Information, vehicle information, and so on. BC Tax stated they extended the deadline until June 5th. They called me on several occasions making it seem as if they were working with the **** They also stated they had a payment plan set up with the **** On or about June 21st I reached out the the IRS agent. I asked if she had received any documents from BC Tax. She stated that the only thing she ever received was in the very beginning, which was a ***** of ********* She never received any documents nor agreed to any payment plan. She was also in the process of filing paperwork against me because she had heard nothing. I was advised to immediately revoke the power of attorney so BC Tax could not have any further involvement in the matter. I then started submitting all the required paperwork that was originally asked for. BC Tax did nothing for me other than possibly cause a huge problem for me by not fulfilling their agreement. I have also attached the email between myself and the IRS Agent.

      Dear ****** BBB,

Unfortunately, I was on vacation starting on Set. 27th when this complaint was emailed to me.  I simply wanted the BBB to understand that we are not ignoring this complaint, it's just that the first time I saw the complaint was on Oct. 6th.  I anticipate a formal response back to this complaint tomorrow, the 11th.

To Whom It May ********************** allow this to serve as our response to the clients claims/statements as requested on September 27th:

The IRS offers many programs for resolution of taxes owed.  Each resolution option requires that the taxpayer qualifies and provides the financial and supporting documentation to prove eligibility for the resolution in which they are seeking.

Upon our review of the clients financial and supporting documentation we determined that the client qualified for an Installment Agreement which was discussed with ******************** via telephone and email exchange. BC Tax prepared and submitted the financial information and Installment Agreement proposal for the deadline of June 2, 2023, following receipt of the clients signature on the financial analysis statement as of June 1st. (see enclosed verification this deadline was met, Exhibit A).

Following the submitted information on June 2nd, we contacted the Revenue Officer on June 6th, at which time her voicemail indicated she would be out of the office through June 20th.  BC Tax did not state at any time that an Installment Agreement had been approved, only that the financial information and proposal was submitted per discussions with the client prior to meeting the June 2nd deadline.

Several calls and some emails were sent to the client to discuss his case from June 15th through June 22nd, and the client did not respond; during our attempts to reach the client, BC Tax received the charge back request as of June 22nd.  The client has advised in his compliant that the Revenue Officer claims no information was received, however we do have proof to the contrary.  We also want to express that following our attempts to reach this client on June 16th,June 20th and June 22nd, he had already initiated a claim to his bank to return retainer funds paid, to which then his bank agreed our services had been facilitated (see enclosure, Exhibit B).

I am rejecting this response because:  First....I spoke to the *** agent.  She received nothing from this company and nothing about a payment plan.  She advised to revoke the power of attorney as soon as possible because they are scamming me.  Only reason I didnt win my charge back complaint from Capital one was because I didnt meet a deadline date to respond.  I was told that I should have been checking my capital one inbox for responses which I was unaware of.  I was told by **** regulations there was nothing else they could do.  ************ is a scam.....

      Sincerely,

Got a call there from a ***********************. He kept asking for me but would not tell me who he work for. He then started talking about a tax lien so I told him he had the wrong number and hung up as I knew it was a sales call. He called back 3 seconds later giving me a hard time. I asked for his manager and wanted to know where he worked. He refused on both accounts. I called back several times trying to reach his manager. He laughed at me and said the beauty was that I would only reach him at that number and where he worked was irrelevant. He called back 20 minutes later from a blocked number and said that if I spent half the energy paying my taxes as I did busting his ***** I wouldn't have any tax liens. He also attempted to call me at 8:45 and 8:46 that night. I was able to deduce where he worked and confirmed by calling the main line the following morning and asking for him. Unprofessional harassment
